I'm not really one of the top photographers but here are my top ten photos.

This one is for the woody lovers. :)

So right now my 2004 top 10 average is only 6.0219, but the year is not yet finished...

Is there an easier way of doing this without going through all my photos 1 by 1 to find the highest scores? I don't think it would be very high this year though, 2003 was probably higher.
12/05/2004 05:50:25 PM · #79
If I have entered 4 completed challenges so far, and 2 of those entries were stinkers, can I just post my 2 better shots?? .>) Avg of these is 5.4...

(Still struggling to break "6")

yes. go to your profile page and select only the results, copy, and paste them into excel. then you can sort the sheet by score, click the links, and copy the image ids. at least that's how i did; anyone else got a quicker, easier way?

Hey EddyG, those are cool stats. I would also like to see how number of ribbons plays into this, and how it differs from actual scores. Since you're so smart seem to have so much time on your hands.... : )

Having seen most of these images in the contests, its nice to see them collated to each individual without going to every persons portfolio to see what they have done.

Cool, thanks :)

2004: Top 10 Average = 6.8264

2003: Top 10 Average = 6.7463

2002: Top 10 Average = 6.3497

Looks like I'm getting better afterall :) Hmm now I know how to use Excel, how about a graph plotting my overall challenge results...

Hmm, pretty erratic to say the least, lol.

How about a moving average with a 20 challenge interval to make the line smooth?

Interesting... It shows me steadily improving, then levelling off, and then I started getting worse again with a blip of good form recently! I wonder why that is. Perhaps I ran out of things to shoot, or maybe I was trying something new, I'm really not sure.

It's been interesting seeing what DPC voter choose and how that seems to define "best work." Some of us seem to show color preferences, others subject, and other compositional similarities among our top scoring pieces. Things that make you go, "Hmmmmm"

Hehe i didn't realize that. About the yellow challenge you never know! ;) but thanks by bringing that up i've never realized that. :)

still a way to go with a 5.831 average will try for a 6.8 ave for 2005

Completely disagree... I've always been completely bowled over by your photography, the quality of your work stood out to me from the moment I joined.

Looking at EddyG's 2004 list it appears to me that some of those hack "flash in the pan" photographers like
kiwiness just dropped off the list... guess they had their 15 minutes of fame. (just kidding, Gary!)
