The plant ID books I try to use seem to go mostly by
Color
Number of Petals
Shape of Flower
Geographic region

I use enature.com . Also Thompson and Morgan Online Seed Catalog. When neither work, I send a copy to a friend of mine who works part time as a landscaper/gardener.

| I use Southeastern Flora to find wildflowers and weeds in my area. Don't know if there's an equivalent for other parts of the country/world but it's very easy to use and I usually find what I'm looking for. |

This is a very good one. I have it in my browser favorites - wild flower resource folder.
Sites from your own particular region are always the best - my quick reference is wisflora but google does a decent job with common names if you know them. |
