Not down at all. It was fun to play and create the border but that particular border clearly detracts for quite a few folks, so the picture will get a version 2 :-) That's one of the things I like about these side challenges, I can play with things I don't ordinarily do and get lots of feedback, and make changes and get even more feedback. Sort of like the DPL private team threads only with lots more participants!
Really, not complaining at all. I am having lots of fun with flowers :-) |

I will never get caught up with commenting!! Made inroads into my backlog this morning, anyway ... that sounds like a mixed metaphor but I don't think it really is ... I either need another cup of coffee or had one too many this morning :::shakes head to clear it:::

Sorry to post yet another image today but I thought some people might find this helpful.
I did a water droplet test using the technique by Ross Hoddinott from his book "Digital Macro Photography"
more info on his technique in photo description.

He, he, I like your tip from the book, cutting out yukky leaves and so on. I do that all the time. In the wild though, I don't "cut" out the leaves, I routinely clean up the area around the flower (especially dead grasses, they're murder on pictures), chase away all icky bugs, and if there are "undesirables" (yukky leaves, a dead flower) try to bend them away or get them out of the way temporarily, without destroying anything. |
