What was the most "inspirational", or the most "emotive" image that inspired you 2006....

It has to be this one foe sure..... by shannylee13

"Mighty", is a perfect title for this image.

My recent comment to Shannon.....

I absolutely love this "emotive" image. so very much Shannon.
Yes, it also brings tears to my eyes as well.
You are also an angel, IMO, for capturing this beautiful inspiring photo, for us all to see, and share.
Thank you so very much sweet girl, and both you and I, have a kindred spirit, thats for sure.
I am amazed at your thoughtfulness, and kind heart, to actually be inspired with the magic you have, behind that camera of yours.

Show us the images that inspired you, and touched your heart, this past year.

A great thread to start Shez. I too love the above image by shannylee13!

But on choosing the photo that most moved me in 2006 I would have to go with Ecce Signum's entry...

A very personal image that let the whole world see one mans grief. Knowing what Andi has and still is going through makes this image all the more powerful for me.

Look forward to seeing others emotive images :o)

Though it was shot in 2005, I discovered and added it as a fav in 2006. This shot reminded me to look for the magic in everyday images. Still one of my favs on the site.

by tpoc in the "Reflections Without Mirrors" challenge.

It didn't score as highly as I thought it would have. I gave it a 10 and added it to my favourites as soon as I saw it in the challenge. Looking back at the comments now, I see some people didn't "get it". Some didn't know what the reflection was of. I think it is an amazing image with a very strong and important social message. There are so many of that struggle with our weight, we think we are ugly, all because of what society says we should look like. Thin people are considered to be beautiful. Yet even some thin people have distorted ideas of what their bodies look like (anorexics for example). Agh, I really can't put it into words but I love this image.

There have been many images that inspired me in 2006, however only one comes to mind. Thanks to Manny, I feel the pain that is conveyed here.

As for Shannons image, it gets me right here(motions at heart) everytime.

After a very unscientific survey, I have to pick this one:

It breaks my heart and then heals it again, every time I dare to look at it.

ok, and this one, too:

Well, I am inspired by different things. All photos I admire are really emotive to me.

Inspired by the beauty of this, b&w, rockwell-esque americana, etc.

Then I am inspired by the contrast of the abstract simplicity of this incredible scene against the impact of human peril (well, as far as the scene shows):

And from a landscape point of view, this one. What a beautiful scene, captured well, so that I can feel the same emotions as if I had just happened across it!

Gee, I have lots.. "emotive" means for me something that may evoke emotions that are not necessarily pleasant, yet impacting all the same, and so...

Oh Geez - this would take the better part of a day to format here.

These are just a few, that to me, are exemplary examples of life and the moments ones soul can speak in a photograph.

Well I could just go on & on & on, but these were the ones that really speak to me when I look at my favorites page.

More examples that should be able to inspire the soul:
Any number of a couple dozen pics by goodman, -Bec-, jenesis and and and and.... sheesh - the list has no ending...

almost forgot this one:
