I had this photo for a few months with a few comments before BradP floored me with the most flattering comment I have received since I have been here at DPC. In a better mood I went to shoot for my school's paper and came back to find this thread. I was even more touched and started thinking about how much I have learned from this site and sooo....Welcome our newest member jfriesen. Thanks Brad for giving me your edit and comments.

I've probably tried to fav this photo at least 5 times already. It truly is pure joy. If I had my little hall of fame area within the favorites section this would be one of the first inducted.

noticed this as a thumb in the thread 'pik your fav pik from the person above you'... i thought it looked interesting as a thumb and the view didnt disappoint ...
gotta say its a beautiful photograph with a lovely and delightful happy feel to it ... often frames/borders can detract from a photograph or overwhelm, but the one you've chosen here is perfect ...

I'm back looking at this photo.
This photo conveys a very strong sense of happiness and warmth, innocence - basically a capture of a good time on a perfect day. Wish I could capture something as strong as this someday.

this is such a wonderful photo. Not exactly a "dpc photo" but one that really stood out from the rest.

The b/w treatment is so right for this photo. It's a favourite as way of continued inspiration.

Fantastic edit. The black and white just makes her face come alive even more.

Joe,
I'm moved that I've touched your life in such a way.
I continue to hold that this is perhaps one of the best images on this site and feel flattered that you put this in your portfolio and honored me with your kind words for what was a mere few mouse clicks on my behalf.

(the inner mat cut is merely two 1-pixel strokes separated by 1-pixel white line)

Great shot/conversion. How do you get that inner 'mat' cut? I think this is better in B&W, but I'm kind of partial to that format any way. Very, very nice photo.
