This is my hubbie's son.

Vito (named after Vito Corleone) is a very special individual with heavy autism. He can't speak, and has an emotional age of ± 2 years.

This photo has always been a favorite for me. He was just looking into his own world when I took this shot, so I had ± 15 minutes to adjust my settings & composition. You can tell he's the best and most patience model I have had in front of my lens ;)

He always gives me the feeling nothing but love will be on his side, no questions asked. Thinking about him (we see him ± once a month) and looking at this photo gives me the feeling of pure love.

I absolutely love this photo (and all of your photos). I also have a niece who has autism and PKU, she is 3 with an emotional age of about a one year old, but she has stolen my heart, and although I have nowhere near your skill with photography, I love this photo of my niece, Olivia.

This is awesome. Loved your "photographer's comments". Great title, too.

This goes into a different dimension.
Those eyes pull me into the image and feel it rather than see it.

This is truly what Photography is all about.
Precious moments captured forever, that unlike that pretty flower, or landscape, will slip by, never to be seen again.

Great portrait for which this tight dark crop works well. Position of the subject's eye in the frame, the catchlight, and its darkness are very satisfying. There are a lot of minor elements that help to make this an excellent composition for me: the border supplied by the hair and stripes, the vertical vs. horizontal position of these, the grain in the photo vs. the texture in the child's skin, the perfect lighting that adds an element of darkness, unsureness, tension, all underscored excellently by the title. This is a superior photograph.
