The Coronado Bay Bridge at dawn, as viewed from the Coronado Golf Course. The height of this is 200 feet over the water too!
A 2-second exposure without a tripod isn't too easy when all you can find is rocks and a self-timer.
This shoot drove me nuts as the more I edited shots, the more I had a hard time deciding which one to use.
Stuck for a title, Trail of Tears by Clannad was playing and seemed to fit at that moment in time. Many have jumped from this bridge and coupled with the tear-like light reflections, seemed appropriate.

Great photo! really makes me miss San Diego. I learned to water ski in these very waters years ago. I grew up in Lakeside and every weekend from Spring to Fall we would head to the bay and waterski. Then they opened up San Vicente reservoir for skiing and I never had to ski in salt water again.

Interesting point about this bridge is the center sections are designed to float. That was a requirement of the Navy that in the even the bridge came down, the center sections would float so they could be moved out of the way of all of the Navy ships that would need to leave the port.

This and on top of Point Loma looking down on the subs have always been favorite memories of mine.

Nicely captured.

Unbelievalbe capture of a night shot! I can't belive you didn't use a tripod - I'd have had lines streaking everywhere.

Yeah - go about 10 miles due West of that bridge. LOL (you can swim right?)
Tomorrow will be a blast at the Wild Animal Park though.

I just discovered this shot, today. What a great one. It's hard to believe I make this drive nearly every day and have never seen it from this angle. I'm going to have to make a pit-stop at the golf course.

This is absolutely stunning and beautiful. Seriously, it almost made me shed a tear. Stunning. I'd buy the print, but everyone would just ask if it was my photo and I'd get embarrassed. :)

Mike,

This is perhaps the highest compliment I have ever received, and thank you from the bottom of my heart. As of now, I have not displayed anything anywhere and only share my images here and at another site. It's on my list of things to do when I get serious about this hobby.

Again, Thank You.
Your kind words mean more than any ribbon ever did.

Nice composition and angle. The trail of reflections on the river makes it a different picture than other bridge pictures. Exposure is also perfect. A little black river bank on the bottom of the picture might be considered to be cropped.

Returning for comment ...the tones here might be a tad too dark. Your main subject is a sillouette which really looks nice and goes well with the dark overcast sky. Maybe could of been brightened a bit by adjusting the levels. It is a very nice photo, and will score high. Almost perfect.

I might have cropped this to just below the bottom lights - changing the weight of the bridge. But, still - one of the prettiest of the submissions.

Why this had to be validated is beyoned me....
The best part here is the reflection. I would loose some sky to focus the attention more on the reflection. The lamp lights become torches that light all the way home.

Simply beautiful! BOL Personal observation and question: Kind of odd. Why does this bridge swing out to the center of the waterway then go to the other side?
