My Day 2
NYC at Sunset

Shelter from a harsh reality.

An approach to "sharpless" without moving the camera, moving the subject, or defocusing the lens:

Not particularly blurry, but certainly sharpless. :)

I liked a few different shots from the zoo today and couldn't pick just one but I don't want to get too much farther ahead so they are all for Day 7 :

day 6- The Toss. This is what happens when you toss $2,000 worth of camera equipment down a slide. then your wife gives you that look that says this is going to be your only take:)

day 7- The Leap. A candid of some kid jumping on the playground. not sure how the processing will go over but I dig it.

These were taken back in February. It's actually teachers protesting about the city or county not approving their contract. They marched through the Farmer's Market, and I happened to have my camera with me.

I've been so impressed with the images presented in this side challenge, that I finally broke down an had to join the club. These are my first attempts, but I'll try to catch up before the end of the month is over. I've been experiencing some technical issues, as my hard drive crashed (again) a week or so ago and I have been without my regular machine (I'm using Dad's laptop in the meantime). Bear with me, as I don't have all of my editing tools available, so I feel kinda naked! ;-)

Not really doing this for the whole month but I was shooting today and took this shot. Thought it would fit well into the challenge. I've had my camera about 2 years and never used the Tv mode until today..lol.

I just have to say that I've been SOOOO impressed with the entries into this rather "outside the box" side challenge. It's been wonderfully refreshing, creative, and has pushed the envelope in a way that most other side challenges haven't. I'm sure I'm just echoing others' sentiments, but I just had to chime in with my own "GOOD JOB!" to all who have participated to this point. And GOOD ON YA Leslie for starting this! ;-)

Since I created an internal error and cannot upload my "Shadow" entry, I'll just put up another blur. ROFL

Okay, you all inspired me to entry a sharpless shot in the shadows challenge. :) Xianart and Louis, you two in particular, for reasons I won't go into to preserve anonymity. After 9 votes, it's at 5.56, so maybe there's hope for us after all.

One of my blur fav's from a while back.
I find it funny that we spend tons of cash on equipment, and are having so much fun and getting so many excellent images that could have just as easily been shot by a disposable camera with a sandpapered lens.
