I've put in a beg request to get off work on 7/7.
If that's approved, then Mickey just_me and I can come.
There are award flight tickets available, and I have them held until Friday.

Hopefully, I'll know by then.

Pedro,
In the post at the top of this thread, you say the block of rooms will be held until May 16th.
Since you posted on May 30, can I assume that's a typo and it should say June 16th??

Hope to see y'all there.

Hey Tony,

We hope your time off request is approved.. would be awesome to have you come out... going to be so much fun!!
To answer your question: The rooms were held until May 16th.. that deadline was posted for a couple of months in the original (previous) thread. Don't lose heart though, I'm quite certain they will still have rooms available at the same rate .. I wouldn't leave booking it to the last minute though.. as soon as you can the better. You might not be listed under the DPC workshop though, which is no big deal so long as you get a reasonable room rate ;) Keep our fingers crossed that we see you both out here for the workshop!!

What good is a model thread without pictures?

here are a few of the models that we'll be shooting that day.

Some have agreed to come along on the GTG on Sunday as well, so there will be lots of opportunity to shoot with models in and around the city.

Hi guys,

I regret to inform you that I cannot attend because I have recently found a new job and I do not have vacation days yet, so I cannot take time off :(

If you know some one who would be interested in attending this workshop but cannot afford it I would be more than happy if you use my money to fund that person. I hope it is not too late to find someone.

I̢۪m sure you will have a good time and I look forward to any similar future events.

Hi all,

I would like an opinion. I am amateur and have never attended an actual workshop hosted by real live people on any specialty, to say nothing of glamour/nude workshop. Would one be embarrassing oneself by attending with one̢۪s monumental lack of experience?

Thanks

Bill:

Absolutely not!! The past two years this workshop has been held in Germany had people attending that were ALL levels .. from just barely started to those who have been published with their photography.

There will be something all levels will be able to learn from the day.. but personally speaking, one of the single best benefits I found were the sidebar conversations with the presenters, or other photographers I admired.. being able to ask advice at all points over the two days from a variety of sources..

If you are thinking about it, I'd say come.. the learning is awesome..but the relationships and knowledge of other like minded individuals is priceless :)

Bill, you just described me perfectly! They talked me into it, now I need to talk you into it :)

I'm ready to go, no doubt about it. Unfortunately, I am carrying some baggage that gets in the way sometime. (Hum... baggage has a bad connotation. Not to worry, I don't have to get out of jail or anything.)

I thought I recognized your ID so I reviewed your profile and portfolio. You and I are definately not in the same league. I would be the one to carry your camera bags, but thanks for the kind words. I am working the issue.

Valeriy Congratulations on the new job.. thats fantastic news!!! Super unfortunate that you wont be able to come to the GTG now though :( We think its very kind of you to offer your paid registration for someone who otherwise might not be able to attend. Just goes to show yet again what an amazing community we have here at DPC!! Your generosity will not be forgotten!!

And now MY plans are up in the air, tho' I am still planning to be at the GTG.
Apparently we'll be moving at the end of the month...

Hubby says I should still go, so maybe I'll just drive over for the weekend and a quick side trip to family in Olds. We definitely won't be having the 2 weeks trip together we'd planned :(

Then again, if I do just come for the weekend Becky-Lee might get to come after all :D

not necessarily...on the 15th if we still have some space we may choose to open it up to non-DPC photographers. at this point there's still lots of room, but more than enough to make it worthwhile as is.

hope you can join us - lots of good times and good images result every time we get together :)

I coming all the way from Germany, I wanna meet as many of you DPC'ers as possible, come on sign up now! You won't regret it, the last two years were awesome!

I agree. I figure I stand to learn a ton at this event.

Problem is I'm still working on it. I have a climb on Mt. Baker scheduled that I'm still trying to get nailed down to a closer date. Problem is we have to wait and see if weather will open our route or not before then. I'm still hoping to do the climb by July first, if so then I'm in. As soon as this firms up I'll commit one way or the other (assuming there is still room left).
