Yeah! I just got my 2 bedroom suite confirmed with a deposit.
Now I won't have to bring a cardboard box to sleep in the streets.

Do they let any wild horses run in the streets like the bulls in spain?

OK, I'm looking for some feedback from the Abertians and others who know the area well.... I'm looking for little known paradises around Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise, Badlands.... so that I may warm up my camera with top notch nature/wildlife photography. How about a place to shoot bears fishing? Birds of pray? Secluded mountain lakes?

Please PM me if you have suggestions.

Thx!:)

Lemme know when you're in.

I'll be driving, so if you can get away I'm sure I could let you ride with me :)
(I think, at this point, that I'll be going alone, not positive yet, but if so hubby would probably be happy to have someone ride shotgun)

But that means I'd be seen in a Malibu...!!! I don't know about that...... ;)

hehe just kidding.

I'll have to talk to the bosswoman. I'll just be like soo yeah this woman named BeeCee wants me to drive with her to calgary for a nude/glamor photo workshop.... Can I go....and have $200?

Well, I think the idea is right, but a slightly different, somewhat more politially sensitive approach/wording might not go astray. :-)

I am preparing to reserve a dorm room. Anyone in this group want to share with an old guy? It might remind you of college. :-)

If you are interested, just PM me.

Good to see this thread is alive now. I am looking forward to meeting you all in Calgary. What about a few more people joining in, I'd love to meet as many dpc'ers as possible. The main reason we decided to do this in Canada this year is so that those of you who couldn't make it over to Europe have a closer trip to the workshop this time around. It's still not too late, go and take the plunge :)

Anyone coming to visit my workshop will get a free 30cm X 40cm print of my latest image.

That's nice of you. What I really want is to learn how you create such amazing portraits. Of course it starts with amazing models but somehow I don't think mine would come out near as well, at least not until after the workshop.

See you there.

Thanks for the info John. I had to laugh as the first page I looked at had this heading:

Living With Cougars

LOL

BTW - Vanessa was able to get my wife and I a Studio Apartment which features two single beds, private washroom, kitchen and sitting area. A bit more pricey at $75 plus the taxes but sounds comfy and private for those who may like a bit more privacy than a shared bath would give.

You must have clicked on the link for "Single's Bars" in Kananaskis. The cougars in the great outdoors will seldom cross your path. ;-)

Yeah, that is why I was laughing. We have cougars down here also and it would be a rare day to see one. Now the kind that prowl the clubs for younger men tend to avoid old guys like me. Not to mention my wife is normally tagging along. : )

The trouble with cougars (the feline kind) is that you probably won't see them until it's sinking its teeth and claws into you.

I've got a small strobist setup. Should I bring it?

What other equipment would you suggest?

Yeah if it's portable and you don't mind bringing it, why not? the more the merrier. We'll have a few setups available for all to use, but with that many shooters we could always use another.

Other than than people usually bring their full bag of lenses and the odd reflector. Kosmik is sure to have his GARYFONGLIGHTSPHERE, and Joey brings cigarettes so he can smoke with his toes.
