I had to use the late-afternoon sun in order to get light on both the rocks and the water, but I wanted it to look more like it was at sunset, hence the very dark water at least one person mentioned. I thought the "regular" lighting left it too "bland." Here is the resized original:

Wow, WaterIII has been one of my favorite challenges to vote/comment on with so many very interesting shots that made an impact on me. I can't agree more with so many of the choices posted above and I want to mention that I had to lift my jaw off the floor and clean up the drool when I saw  Posthumous's abstract. What an amazing picture to sink your eyes into.
Many great shots might not be immediately recognized (or in 3 seconds), but don't worry, real artists get their recognition long after they've passed away. :P |

The TPBs for the water challenge! I thought there were quite a few really high quality images in this one so really tough to narrow down (I even made two honorable mentions). Keep shooting images like these!
