after a very long wait, here come da x-peeps. (peeps weren't invented when i left canada in 92, so i'm still slightly confused by them. my main question is; why?)

colorcarnival i really, really like this. the tones are wonderful, the unexpected composition, the surprising juxtaposition, all combine to make a really super image. nice one indeed.

bucket ooo, yeah. dark in all senses. i love the texture of the floor, the diagonal beam of light and the leading mouse head. the slaughter of the peep is just a bonus.

freakin_hilarious i love close-ups of things. you have turned a small marshmallow candy to a monumental object. the texture of the sugar on the surface is tangible. nice one.

Whenever someone starts a thread about how high scoring shots are superior, I smile to myself because I remember photos like this that come in 40th place.

well, i really can't understand the placing in curves. mind you, there are many, many things i don't understand. so, i think i have more than three x-prizes, if only because i can't believe so many wonderful shots were scored so poorly. all of the below had the same top score from me.

pointandshoot simple and poignant. the little tiny curves of the wings for little tiny flights, all done now.

BeckyT the dark and light, the twisting forms, the death and life. stunning, composition and tones all spot on. this keeps me warm at night.

riot shows how much i know - i thought this was really dpc friendly. the buttery feel of the guitar is just scrummy. i love the soft, gentle curves; the colours and tones are just superb.

Alain i thought i recognised this one, and was right. so simple and clean, pure and lovely. anthropomorphism at its best.

cutout this is just so cool. i love the abstract shapes, the smooth tones, and the tone reversal. the swoop of the curve is so dramatic and... swoopy.

Hungaro man, what is with people? such lovely colours, the contrasting textures, the dramatic blue sky with swirly clouds - i figured this for a dpc fave. obviously not. fools.

craigester soft curves and harsh concrete, deep sky with wispy clouds, dark, brooding tones. excellent city shot and abstract composition.

I dont know whether to laugh or cry...The first time I get mentioned in this thread and the first time you did not hand out ribbons! I will content myself with saying a huge thank you, not only for the recognition but for the wonderful comment that you left during the challenge

Woo-hoo :-))) My parrot and I thank you! I'll just consider this a posthumous Honorable Mention (almost as good as a ribbon ... trying not to be too greedy).

Thanks for the ribbon, I really appreciate it. I thought this might do better, because of the story it can tell - unfortunately just didn't grab people's eye.

Thanks Don too for your work on DPC. What you contribute is valuable to us all.

My thanks to Don and everyone else who posts to this thread. It's always wonderful to see how others see. And to find the gems that may be overlooked.

Thanks, folks!

Lots of beautiful ones and some great competition in the FS of course. Here are three that I thought should see a little more love...
