I thought of Hildy's scalloped gray feathers when I first saw this challenge; the part I wasn't sure of was what kind of pose I wanted. I got some from behind her looking out the window and some from above, but this one, with the curve of the chair she's chewing on and the curve of her head and neck in addition to a nice perspective on the scalloped feathers just appealed to me most. It's different, but I like it.
PP - converted from RAW, cropped, burnt/cloned out a bit of wing on the top, dodged feather ends, burnt background and chair, burnt darker parts of feathers, levels, white v]balance, cloned out a distracting line in her feathers, resized, sharpened with noise reduction, hand sharpened some feathers. |

having color only on the left side seems unbalanced to me, distracting. Otherwise, this is an amazing image. The texture of the feathers is just incredible, and there's a strange poignance to the pose. |
