 Since I called everyone else out, I knew I had to submit myself. All week I thought about what shot I would submit and nothing ever came to mind. I waited until the last minute to start skimming through all 33k+ of my images. I found some OK photographs that I was proud of, but none that I wanted to represent myself with for this challenge.

I kept coming back to a few portraits I had taken of my wife and I knew that there wasn't any better way to celebrate the 1,000th challenge than with a portrait of her. I obviously think she's gorgeous, but the reality is that she's without a doubt the prettiest person I know. The problem is that in almost 9 years, I've never been able to really pull off a portrait that captured her true beauty.

I'm happy with this one, but, to me, it's not perfect. I think still she's more pleasing to the eye than this photograph shows.

I think her expression is just perfect. Looking professional model in front of the camera though I am not sure she is professional model or not. No tense on face at all.

'Tis always good to see loved ones through they eyes of those that love them. She really is a beautiful woman - you did her justice! But by all means, keep shooting her. :-)

I gave the photo a strong 6, but I'd give the young lady a strong 9. (10s don't really exist) :)

Great to see that you entered the shot that you knew may not get the killer score. You entered the one that had some meaning to you. Kudos for setting the example.

Lovely portrait and the lighting is nice on her face. I might have done some slight PP on the hands (although not as much as the face) to warm the colours up a touch whilst not detracting from the main area around the face.

back for comments. A lot of distractions in the image.. you could clean up the background a little or crop out dark regions which don't add anything

Don't assume that because you have an affinity for your subject, the rest of the world will too. Otherwise, a good workmanlike photo.

Very nice portrait, however I find the background a little distracting. Also a little fill flash to add a catchlight / glint to the eyes would help

Sharon is lovely, and she seems relaxed in front of the camera. This is good. But, the portrait lacks 'zip'... perhaps some more sharpness or maybe catchlights in her eyes would accomplish this?

Nice honest expression captured here. The focus could be a little sharper and with a little more editing the subject could be emphasized, but overall a nice image.
