I took this last month on my visit to my daughter's wedding. Naturally this sort of shot has taken a back seat and I've just processed it. |

Okay, I tried to do something that I don't even do with my DSLR.
At the moment that sun rise happened, and the sun peeked over the mountain top, snap..
I think the one I did yesterday morning was better though.

Ha, I thought I provided an explanation.... I went on a solo snowshoeing/camping trip this past weekend. It was only for one night, but it was a good trip. I'll be putting up a few from the excursion.

One from the past weekend. Infrared is mostly thought of as being for landscapes. I don't restrict myself to landscapes with it and in this case took it to the zoo.
Flamingos.

I used my iPhone for this one. Can't get much more P&S than that. |

Thought I would get myself started by posting a shot I took this summer. |

I noticed a grainy pattern in the photos from my Lumix, and was using noise reduction to reduce it and get smoother tones. Then I realized it was the sharpening that the camera was applying to the photos when it saves them. I turned the in-camera sharpening down to zero and that was it. This in camera sharpening is not the unsharp mask that we all use when post processing on the computer, it's a pattern that give the image the appearance of being sharper when viewed at a normal viewing range. This is great for folks that are using the images straight from the camera, but I think for those of us that post process, turning off all in camera sharpening will probably give better results. I've noticed that Canon DPP does the same kind of sharpening pattern when it's cranked up.
Here are a couple of 100% crops, you can see the pattern in the sample on the left, while the one on the right was taken after I turned off the in camera sharpening.

Taken back in Oct 13th with an iPhone. I'll try for actual November shots hopefully soon.

Took this today with my iPhone. The water was absolutely mirror.
This one with the M9 same time, same place(not edited) for comparison for those who might be interested. The difference at this size is big but defintitely not huge. An interesting observation (but probably old news for most of you) is that the width of the iPhone lens (unzoomed) is very close to a 35mm on a full frame camera while the height; or ratio, is different.
