Some of the best color is saved for last. Next week most of these leaves will be on the ground. Ahead lies the bleak cold winter... |

Not too much golf left this season... Here they are blowing the pipes out so they won't freeze. The water's been turned off, and a compressor is hooked into the pipes and is forcing out all the standing water. I hit my approach through the plumes, and parred this hole :-)

Pit stop at mile 76, where the race course crosses the highway in the Baja. This is the 201 car that we actually entered in the Baja 1,000 race.
Playing with the machines day before yesterday. We spent the afternoon running around in canyons and desert with a couple of 16, and 14 class race cars and the Arctic Cat 4 wheeler. I shot a ton of photos with my DSLR from the 4 wheeler. Today we ran 120 miles each way, through desert and over mountains to have lunch at a place along the coast in a little village south of San Philipe. We then loaded the toys and drove back to southern California, to spend the rest of the night. Rocky rolled the 1612 car yesterday, with the only damage being a couple of broken bolts and one mirror torn off. A couple of days before the race started Marty and Rocky were pre-running with the same car, and dove off into a big washout, almost "lawn darting" at about 50 mph. Marty hurt his back muscles and had to sit out the race and let the other 3 teams drive. Our 201 car which was actually in the race made it about 950 miles before breaking one of the rear axle hubs, which put us out of the race.
More in a couple of days. I got some great pix the last couple of days, and I'm tired now. We fly home the 23, but I will not have a computer available after tonight.
Here is the official race website, with links to maps and other info.
