    Biography: There has always been a part of me that wants to create art, and photography is one of the ways that I try to do this. I'm not a pro by any means, i use photography as a way to relax, and to not think about work or other stresses in life. It also helps me see things during the day that most people don’t see.

    My wife put it best when she said that my photos review the way I see things that are around me, and she enjoys that insight into my life.

    My Goals: Simple really, I hope that I can speak to someone out there through my photos.

    History of my photography?

    I really started developing an interest in photography in the early 90's. Film proved to be expensive, and in about 97 started playing with a digital camera that was 640x480. But suddenly I had a device that allowed me to start taking photos trying out new things. If something appeared to look good then I would use my film camera to then take the “final” result.

    My first DSLR was thanks to a great friend ( spectre013) by ways of a loan, when the Canon D60 came out. Over the years I’ve had better years at taken photos and not so great years where I hardly took any.

    I use DPC as a great way to start making me think about how to take photos. Using the challenges (even though I don’t often feel my work is good enough to enter) as a way to make myself take photos I probably wouldn’t think about before seeing a challenge.

    RECENT ACHIEVEMENTS:

    Year 2010:

    * 4 of my photos are on display in the basement of Jordan Commons Office Building, part of a project to make their basements look more at home and friendly, I entered some of my photos for consideration and all 4 are now hanging in the basement.


    * My "Natural Beauty" shot, less cropped than the one in my profile won 3rd place in the Utah State Fair, for the category "Wildlife - in captivity".

    Also the Utah art council picked this photo to be one of 25 to go on tour over a year to be displayed in libraries and public school.


    * Portrait of my wife that I took is now being used in her school library as part of the "teachers reading" campaign her school is doing.

    Year 2011:

    * Made the main photo in the CD dish, also a few other photos I've taken from them made it throughout the CD fold out. Found in the Blues 66 Band's first CD "A Different Brand of Blues".
