Post a shot that makes you want to spend time staring at it...not your typical DPC catch you as you vote type, but one that when you came back to it, made you like it even more...
something you might like to see in a gallery...for the sake of exposing different work, please no ribbon winners...
a couple of examples...

got quite a lot to choose from personally, so had to settle for random selection; even so, it's a lot!

and not to be a brown noser or anything, but this one still slays me :)

I have this one autographed and framed and, at the moment, propped against the wall on my desk. I spend ages and ages gazing at it...

And this is one of my faves;

If I could only have one photo in my favs...this would be it.
...others I enjoy:
...there are so many wonderful images here just waiting to be seen.
ETA: There were quite a few others I wanted to post, but could not since the persons were no longer members.

Anyone notice how practically ALL of the images being referenced in this thread are either monochromatic or constructed from a really muted color palette?
Anyway, here's a few from MY favorites that I find truly rewarding:

His whole portfolio is one to linger over, likely my favorite port. to look through. Very talented photographer.

This is one of my own that I STILL linger over from time to time. I wonder what they were talking about that had everyone SO entranced.

Here are a few that I find to be compelling images. Sadly, there are so many others in my favorites folder that can't be viewed because the photographers are no longer members (boysetsfire, keith maniac, sevilduvarci, and chele, to name just a few).

Interesting observation made by Bear_Music regarding the prevalence of monochromatic/muted tones. My choices all fall into that category as well.

Exactly what I was going to post. (Lesson learned; it always pays to read the whole thread before opening mouth :) ) |
