Yes!

I'd like to encourage anyone viewing this image to peruse Pietro's portfolio as well. There is much considered interest, IMO, in a relatively small collection.

excellent work. has a kind of eerie feeling to it, i wonder if the woman knows she's being possibly followed? very ominous, can be looked as 'darkness' in more than one way.

I didn't vote this round but I just wanted to let you know I really like this photo. I keep coming back to it...looking....trying to see what compels me to keep coming back. A time of long ago....it has a gritty, nostalgic feel....I don't know...but I do know I like it! I hope this will be made available in print :)

I agree with Brad. This was one of the best in the comp. Shame I didn't get to it in my voting. The longer exposure needed to capture sufficient light meant that the humans present blurred just slightly. The effect is that they are miscellaneous people with no defined facial details and a ghost like appearance. The people make this shot, not the wall itself, although that's nice too.

Hi Pietro,
This shot, in my opinion was one of the best in this challenge.
Though I didn't get around to voting, when I clicked on the thumbnail, it stopped me in my tracks.
Awesome shot!

Really thank you to all commenters.
I went out looking for a high contrast on an old wall, caused by a street lamp in a dark street. The scary combination of the two human beings came out accidentally.

What a fascinating composition! It is higher contrast yet still retains decent mid-tones. It has a full range of tonality. Capturing the girl in the center of the overexposed wall space is a stroke of genius. The use of motion blur is terrific.

This image provides the viewer with so many things to think about that it is doubtful all of them could be identified.

There are not enough superlatives to describe this image. Kudos to you for an incredible photograph!

A very powerful, stark image of darkness. I think it's a deceptively simple composition; a few moments study suggests that a lot of vision and care has gone into creating this photograph. I love the positioning and the insubstantial nature of the two figures. It adds to the mood of uncertainty and tension that I suspect you were going for. It's very evocative; I can hear the footsteps! 8

I've been looking at this image all week and I'm voting a 9. I love the motion blur on the people, and the man behind the woman gives me the feeling he's following her. Very creepy feel, the street looks so bare.

Love this photo... almost looks like it was taken in the 40's... I like the grain in the photo. The figures almost look ghostly. Excellent work!

Good use of "ghost" images. The mood really comes across. Graininess works well.

I wouldn't want to be her! Having been attacked in the street in similar circumstances this one screams darkeness to me. The motion blur has distorted the man's head, but that fits with the theme. I even like the noise - matches the mood.

theres something about the movement blur of the people that makes this appear a very emotional photo. great composition.

I really like this one,
I'm not sure why it appeals to me so much.
It is very urban and looks like something I would buy.
I gave it a nine.

I really like this shot. The people look so ghostly, like apparitions. And the light/dark on the walls adds a lot, too. Great work.

I love the bricks and the lighting. The fuzzy people take away from that for me. It would not work without the people. But, their fuzziness just bugs me.

This one raises my heart beat. The positioning of the 2 people in it against the light falling on the wall and the relative speed of them captured here creates an uncertainty that could be rather horrific. It's titled Night walk, and doesn't give any clues and that I think is brilliant. The image has given a lot of room for imagination. Although, I am sure, it's a totally harmless scenario here, it does cause fear in my head.
Kudos. A brilliant piece. Gets better the longer I look at it.
