I'm far from the first to mention this one in the comment bombing, but I love it, I've always loved it, and I always will. There's something about that guy that just hits me right in the familiar area of my heart.

I've looked at your profile a number of times and this image always draws me in. I can't even pinpoint what exactly I like about it, but it's amazing.

This picture started an entire forum thread about candid shots, by stating that this is the best.
Yeah, I can certainly agree. This is one GREAT picture!
Besides the great details and light and perfet DOF, this photo makes me so curious about the man I am looking at. He makes me want to talk to him, to understand what's in his head.
Pure art. You know how to do it!

I can't help but keep coming back this image, the tilt of the head and classic glasses give this so much character almost a modern day Asian version of Jim Morrison.
This is one of my top ten images on this site and can't believe you didn't get a ribbon for this.

This is one of my top picks. Not sure exactly why - it's just very interesting. This guy may start a trend in eyewear. ;-)

Returning to comment, this is a great capture, the broken glasses adds to a slightly dishevelled appearance but the colour of the jacket and the scalf certinly support the eccentric title..

Great title for this shot.
This is one that deserves a closer look, as there are so many things to notice here.
I hope the voters will have taken the time to study this shot, especially the makeshift repairs on the broken glasses. (7)

What happened to his poor old glasses? It sure adds to the picture. He looks like he is a million miles away. Good shot. The background looks a little busy but I like it.

Great textures in the picture. I really like the shallow dof to separate him from the rest of the crowd. I have studied this one a lot, from the interesting eyeglasses to his expression. Your title fits perfectly and it is a truly amazing portrait.

Guess the title says it all! Excellent candid shot, very crisp/sharp with nice DOF. This guys glasses are even a little off, would love to know his story and what he does for a living. Wonderful capture!

He could be the most interesting subject in this challenge! The way he's fixed his glasses says so much about the way he lives. I think this photo may even be improved if you'd crop in closer to get that mended lens to a third-point. Maybe crop out the left side to near his head and crop from top & bottom to get the proportion right. But I'm a cropaholic anyway. [10]

Very nicely done picture. The colors are excellent and the focus is so crisp and clear with good bokeh in the background. I can identify with this picture as my son is an eccentric, too!

Like your timing - that eye through the broken glass is precious. The centred/non-centred composition works reall well - the shape of him in frame is nicely symmetrical, and yet the natural pull of the viewer's eye tto the subject's eyes takes one to a strong plane in the image. The thoughfulness, and the direct look you've captured is effective too. A man with a truly non-self-cntred view of the world - I like him immediately.

This is very good. The fabric texture, the angle of head, the blurring of background, plus the shattered glasses add up to a very pointed portrait..9

Indeed- really makes the viewer want to study him! I might have asked if he'd stop and pose for a few shots, or at least fire off several in a row and see if he looks more in the direction of the camera. The frame bisecting his right eye is a tad distracting.

IMO by far the best entry of this sort of picture in the challenge. I look at it and look at it and keep finding more. The condition of the eyeglasses, of course, is key to the whole thing, as is the lovingly-rendered sense of texture throuighout.

I find this to be the most fascinating photograph of the challenge and titled accurately. I like the DOF and clean processing. A solid and well-deserved 7.
