This is not a reflection..it is trees standing in the snow. These trees looked amazing in the snow...I had to do a big uturn in not such great weather.
I really thought I was keeping this one in colour...then the black and whites jumped me, and I couldn't go back...

Cropped, curves, , dupl. soft light, calculations soft, grayscale, rgb, cloned a tiny bit, smart sharpen, added border.

That's crazy, even after reading the notes it took me 20-30 seconds before I worked out what I was looking at, amazing.

This is such an amazing photo - you really need to read your description before you realize how excellent a find this was. Brilliant to turn it into B&W. I never visited your portfolio before and am so glad I did today.

of course i thought the trees were a reflection at first ... even after reading your comment i couldnt see that they werent .. how wonderful this image is .. i can see why you did a that u-turn ..
i particularly love things that arent immediately obvious .. things that either come gradually into your consciousness or are like a sudden bolt of recognition .. even after i know what this is i still have difficulty finding the reality .. how excellent .. !!
i love your title .. :)

Just checking out previous 'Personification' entries to make sure I don't inadvertently duplicate a shot. This one stopped me in my tracks - utterly brilliant.

Anybody familiar with Sound Forge or any other wave editor? ^^ This could be a screenshot!

Simply awesome, how did this not get a ribbon??! Even after I read that it isn't a reflection, it still took me a while to figure out. I love the cropping too, it adds further to the deception, making the image look even more like a sheet of paper straight out of the heart monitor.

As well as this photo did. IMHO I believe you were robbed. You had my top vote and I really believe you should have taken a big old blue for this amazing shot! LOVE IT.

This may be black and white but it should definitely be done in 'blue'! imho

A photograph is neither taken nor seized by force.
It offers itself up. It is the photo that takes you. ~ Henri Cartier-Bresson

Your photograph is a wonderful example of what Cartier-Bresson spoke.

Amazing this isn't a reflection ... and an outstanding image in general. I didn't score it terribly well (5) since it didn't emote 'personification' to me (I still don't see the tie-in; an EKG-like image doesn't = human emotion or form IMO) but it is a captivating shot and deserves kudos for being captured. Congrats on the Top 10 placing.

I have been trying to express myself in regards to this, but I don't have anything useful to say. 'I like it very much' will simply have to do. Cheers!

Congrats on your top ten from one of your 6 voters. Just didn't have enough personification for me but it is a very appealing photo in it's own right I gotta say.

this is such a wonderful shot....looks almost like a seismograph...what adds to it is how you framed it, by leaving the sides off...it is one of my favs

Interesting idea, though to me it looks more like an audio waveform than an EKG tracing. This is one occasion when the asymmetrical border has an effective purpose.
