Pardon me for sticking my head into the Monkey House, but I just wanted to issue a special invitation to TS'ers to join me in a side challenge the first week of June. Given your current hangout I think you should all be able to find some Wild Things!
You may now return to your regularly scheduled discussions of cool images (and I think I need to take a closer look at that bee with his schnozz in a little purple flower while you chat). |

Wahoo! Lookit what happens when you're offline for a couple of days! Wow, TSers doing well everywhere, keep it up!
Aw, umm---err,,doyle, I liked hipychik, I thought it was one of the coolest usernames!
My ABC shot doing Ok at about 5.3...some trolls being nitpicky...
having my annual spring cold, it crashed on me Wednesday, been fighting it since then, so currently happily buzzed on Day/Nyquil lol! haven't been out shooting much but may get down on that sexy floor o' mine tonight...!
Plan to shoot for Portrait of a Camera too...

Hi everyone, just thought I'd let you all know that after a 4-month hiatus I've finally entered another challenge. Right now I'm sitting at a 5.333. It's OK, could be better, but then again could be a lot worse too, right?
Congrats to everyone with the great scores being shown here. I'm so very proud of you all. |

Ooer I've not been around this site for a while. I've got a new camera now, the Ricoh R8. It's a neat pocket affair that I should be able to actually carry around with me, unlike the SLR. So maybe I'll get a few more challenge shots. Not in the database yet though, so I've asked for it to be added.
I used to to get a quick snap of our new car, 'cos I hadn't photogd that yet.

Ouch, Karen. Good luck with your recovery! I did it last month helping clear debris as part of an Earth Day event with my office. Here's the evidence in EPA's blog (that's me second from the right, in the green t-shirt):

Congrats on the new camera, I have heard tons of great things about it. With that and the new beamer, it is nice to see that life is good in your world. Keep it up. :) |

big and exciting news!!!
I have just been accepted for some gov't funding to begin my own photography business.....
Since I already have all the equipment required, they supply me with a guarenteed income for the next 40 weeks while I build up my business, and help with a business plan and setting up the books etc etc. :)
My plan is to do on-location photography for portraits, pet portraits (that will be one of my main focuses), event photos on the weekend (races and such)...whatever I can get my hands on. That way there is very little overhead because there is no studio. Proofing for portraits and pet portraits will be immediate on my laptop and for events it will be done on-line.
I am so excited I am shaking. :)
