Lots of textures in this, maybe too much - might be too "busy".

I should note - I didn't realize when I used the word "texture" that people might think I used a texture with the image and blended it. This images uses no texture (although I took another picture of the same wall and did use it as a texture in another shot). I meant "texture" as in how much different details you could see (earth, wood, rusty metal, etc.)

Great capture. It looks like this ax has a long history. I like all the varying textures.

Yep it does have a lot going on, but I kinda like that in a picture now and then. The strong diagonal of the handle provides a firm foundation for it all, though. Good color and detail.

Very interesting and edgy processing. I really have to teach myself how to play with textures. But all the processing in the world won't help unless you start with an interesting image, and you did that here. Nicely done, and thanks for finding the energy to join us on the walkabout! Hope your feeling better by now.

Hope you are feeling better by now!

The crazy background combined with the hatchet give it that scary guy Halloween feel. You should convert this to black and white and maybe unmask the hatchet. Not sure if that would work but there really is something eerie about that background!

EDIT: Ohhhh I see - did you use that textured background? Really really cooooool.

Yeah a little too busy but if it was just the hatchet and that wall it would be sooo nice.

Creepy old hatchet. A good find for a texture study!

This looks like a DVD cover image for a slasher movie!

It is a busy shot, but that business and texture are what make the shot!

I actually like this shot. The textures send your eyes for a hunt trying to figure out what is what. It was a good hunt. :)
