LOL!!! The slight whiffiness around his head... would that be the beast or the man who feigned asleepness?

Thanks, Kelli! I hadn't seen that! And now that song will be stuck in my head all day.... :-)

Bummer about the skunk encouters, guys! On the plus side, unless they're out for revenge, they may think twice about trying to chase down one of those funny-looking white-striped black cats in the future... :-)

OMG poor Octo! I hope he is feeling (and smelling) better.

That sucks! This just happened to my Coco about 2 weeks ago. The poor girl is 12.5 years old and this is the first time it ever happened to her. Yeah - the tomato stuff does not work. I did use Dawn tho. And I did not have the hydrogen peroxide so I used soda. What did you use on his face? Oh check his eyes too. Coco got it full on in the eyes and she's on some eye drops now. Good luck!

Yeeh gads, the fun never ends. All North Americans, do NOT forget that there are skunks everywhere this time of year.

About 1 hour ago Druli, my 14-yr-old guy, came inside...reeking of fresh stinkycat..and worse yet the damn skunk had sprayed him very recently. His chest and ruff were well saturated with the stuff.

Once I realized that the gawdawful smell came from him, I rubbed dry baking soda into his fur to try and mop up the worst of the smell, before rubbing it out very well with a towel. then, as Lily was freaking out cause she didn't recognize him, I bundled him into the bathroom, turned on the fan and shut the door and got online. Found a home recipe for skunk removal but of course it meant D had to have his first-ever shower...the poor guy hated every second of it, but was amazingly good and seemed relieved to get towelled dry.

I gave him lots of Greenies and catnip to make him feel better, and apart from avoiding me, he does seem a lot happier and smell much better!

But even I knew better than to take a picture of a wet, pissed-off old cat. Druli would have surely got back at me if I took his pic while he was being bathed! The recipe seemed to work even though I didn't do as recommended and leave it on for 5 minutes.

And no, tomato juice doesn't work.

HELP!!!
I am home alone on a Friday night (well OK Lily's keeping me company), going out of my sweet freakin' mind cause I'm entering Food Recipes and I don't know if my *finished product* will make it to set, it smells sooooo damn good! Good thing I bought more today, cooking along with the stuff destined for my tummy - er, set - so that may help curb my ravenous urges once I get behind the camera...

Maybe next time I'll just shoot homemade lemonade. :-)

In other news, hi everyone! We're back from Hawaii and had an incredible time. I have about 700 photos to sort through, of course, but here's the first batch.

I also put together a short video about our boat trip to see lava flowing into the ocean from 50 feet offshore. It's on YouTube.

Congrats to Doyle on whatever good thing is happening with a magazine! :) And Jeb, you're looking great! I'm glad you're posting pics or I wouldn't recognize you at the Sept. DC GTG.

My lowest was a 3.2913, back in 2005. But I've been close to that number too many times for me to count.
