Because we live on a major road, people sometimes have a hard time locating our house for fear of being rear-ended. We put up a decorative white fence to more easily identify it.
Today, while leaving the driveway, I noticed how pretty the RED leaves were sitting right in front of the fence.

This from my first challenge entry (Brown) that I converted to B&W. I didn't use desaturation - read foroman_forever's tutorial. I experimented in the channel mixer. This one has a different crop as well - as suggested in the comments from that challenge. I hope it's okay to re-use photos. I thought I would learn more from a photo I already took, than to go out and shoot and struggle from the start. |

Dull skys today again...so processed the you know what out of it to get sky detail, I like it but it may be too much for most people...

Day 1 .. I just joined the site & I am going to try & play catch up. I basically know nothing about editing pictures but hopefully this will force me to learn & get better. |

I agree wholeheartedly. I am actually looking forward to going out with my camera with my eyes turned toward contrasts and light. I said before it began this would be a piece of photographic Heaven, and it has definitely held true. |

A pine cone shot I took earlier in the season. It's in my portfolio. I converted this using gradient. I am fiddling with the options offered by the tutorial i was looking at as posted earlier.
edit: I don't think I used gradient - fiddled with too many options and now I don't remember what I did.
