Ahh, Spring in Colorado! Shot from the safety of my covered stairwell, though the bottoms of my socks did get a bit damp. The linear scrape-like texture over the concrete of the parking lot is actually the falling hail. Nothing bigger than pea-sized for this one.
Getting this up early since I have last final on Monday and don't want to be distracted by photography tomorrow when I should be studying.
Note: Why no tripod on this one? I thought about it, but then realized it was in the front seat of the car :P
In Nikon Editor:
convert to b/w
turned red down, green and blue slightly up
(after playing with this for awhile, it looks like this does the same job as the channel mixer in PS, and fits into my workflow better than channel mixer does)
In CS2:
dup layer: soft light, 26% fill
color balance: highlights red +5, shadows blue +5
levels (pulled in on right, shifted middle slightly to right)
resize
smart sharpen
a little dodge & burn |

Good subject, just think a tripod would have been an advantage. |

Nice photo. Good timing capturing this scene. I think venturing down to street level to really focus on that 'karma' license plate would have really kicked this shot off. If your karma gets you a hailstorm pounding your car, its time to become a monk or something. Good luck on your exams. |

First off, good luck on the finals, got a feeling you won't need the luck. The weather was beautifully captured in your shot. I have no reason why, but I think the newstand really adds to the quality of the photo. |
