this is day 16 for me ...
i'm putting in a whole heap coz it's my birthday ..
these are all taken early this morning up our road ..
my camera had a birthday today as well ... it turned 10,000 images .. its aging very very quickly considering i've only had it 5 months ..
OMG ... i just did the maths ... that's 500 shots/wk ... OMG OMG ... THATS an average of 71 shots/day ....... no wonder i have to get another hard drive .........!!!!!!!!!!!!! of course going thru all my photographs and selectively deleting might be a good idea ..

I had a busy day at work, so not much time to shoot until the usual daily Florida sunset. I attended another community covered dish GTG tonight, and several singer/songwriters from our extended family were there. One was my fishing buddy, Amber Dotson (.com) . Another was Phil ODonnell, who worked with Craig Morgan for a few years and wrote some of the songs that he has recorded. (country music)
I broke out of the buffet line to go shoot the sunset. I think that it was worth the few minutes to enjoy and shoot it.

i'm putting a couple that are definitely not good straight out of the camera ... they were taken last weekend, but i dont have anything else right now ..

i've learnt heaps doing this project ...
i'm hoping that we are all happy with how this thread has developed ... that some of us are editing and some of us are not ... we're all learning from seeing the unprocessed photographs and if we want to learn anything from other ppls processing then that option is there as well .....

This was a couple of days ago, but nothing worth seeing happened today. I took a few of the sunset, and a few of some gators having a tiff over a nest or something, but that was into the sun, and mostly underwater, so didn't look like much.

This afternoon about dark on the way home.

Looks like the party is finally over here, so it's off to the next thread. Everyone left me behind a bit with P S editing, but I still learned a lot about the program "Graphic Converter" that I am using.
Thanks for all the great tips and comments. It's been inspiring, and good to have the input and tips from everyone here. And--- bye.

i didnt have time to do anything today ...
and is there anyone else but me and roger and possibly karen left doing this now, seeing waddy's off to greener pastures !?? .. :)
i'm meeting up with a few other dpc ppl tomorrow in sydney at the rocks, and my friend owen

owen is going to let me use his Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro for the day ..... it'll be very interesting using a completely different lens on my camera ... this is the lens that i'm going to buy, and i'm very grateful that i can actually use it before making my final decision ... it'd be BAD to spend that sort of money on the 'wrong' lens ..

xxrozxx was busy today, I posted a couple of extras from yesterday.
I wanted to see what the wide dynamic range setting on the S3 would do when shooting into the sun at sunset. Looks like it works.
Have fun at the GTG Roz, and I hope that you find the 100 mm a joy to play with. I will be looking to see what kind of images you will find when you get to shoot in the "world of small". I find that my old 55mm M F macro will bail me out any time, and any where, when I run out of ideas for pics.
Once again, this thread has been a great time, and I learned a lot, and it helped to get me to shoot a lot of images that I would otherwise have just never got out to shoot.

I'm kind lost on my days. I think this is 22. I took these this morning before sunrise. I was hoping for a moonset over the city of Chico, but the clouds blocked the view, so you get sunrise instead (opposite direction).

And here is the edited version of day 15

For anyone interested, one of my photos - "A Pond Reflection" - has made it to the Featured Photographs page for this week. I don't consider it one of my best, but I'm honored to be selected just the same. Of course, the fact that it came out on April Fool's Day might be worth considering.

got together with a few other dpc ppl yesterday and tried

owen's Canon EF 100mm f/2.8 USM Macro on my camera . i'd been on the verge of buying this lens, but wanted a test drive .. i'm not so sure now whether its the lens for me ..
i want a lens with a bit of zoom coz i found it a pain with owen's that i'd have to literally run away from the subject to get sufficient distance to get them in the frame .. spose all that'd come with practice ... but having 100mm constant was hard to get used to ...
i really want the macro as well ... i'm wondering if i can get that in one lens .. my current Tamron AF 18-200mm f/3.5-6.3 XR Di II for Canon just doesnt have a good enough macro ... also i've been told the glass isnt crash hot etc ... keith

firsty reckons i do need to learn the tamron better ... it appears that nearly 6 months is not enough time for me to get proficient .... I'M A VERY SLOW LEARNER !!

i really didnt take one good shot all day .. was having trouble with the focus and also inadvertantly altered the exposure setting so everything was overexposed for a while .. and i was thinking it was the lens ... then someone changed the setting for different eye's and i didnt realise, so i thought for a while that i was just having more focus problems because of the camera/lens etc etc etc ..
the plus side is that i learnt heaps from playing around with the different lens and from my mentor keith
