Not bad, but i really am mad cause i keep getting the same mark every challenge, pretty much. I thought this one would do a lot better. Does it matter if i reveal which photo is mine??????

You are not suppose to reveal which image is yours during the voting.

Of course it does! It hasn't even been a day since the challenge started. Chill, maybe ppl that voted a little low will come back for some more "reviews" and they might give u a little bump, raising ur score!

The way this challenge is going, you could have the blue! Good luck!

IM just curious, being fairly new to this site, why does it matter whether ur not your photo is revealed, just because the voting could be influenced by the photographer, or just biased somehow?? I am just curious of what would differentiate one's ratings from being conspicuous?

I'm not sure I understand your question? Are you asking what's the harm in revealing which photo is your entry during the challenge?? If that's it, it's just better for everybody of the voting is allowed to proceed in a completely anonymous manner, without anybody being distracted by knowledge of the reputation or history of the photographer. I wouldn't want my evaluation of a photo to be muddled by my knowledge that it's BradP's, or Heidi's, or whatever.

I prefer anonymity, freeing me from the shackles of all previous mediocre to poor photos stamped upon my hide.

Some of you might remember that in another thread I promised to comment on every photo in the cemetery challenge. I had to change my preferences to hid me during voting. I received too many e-mail of people explaining their photos to me. Revealing which one was theirs. When I get comments during voting I will wait until it is over then mark them helpful if they were and e-mail everyone thanking them for commenting.

just got another low score and comment on my photo
"there are more religious people in this world than not but a good picture 3"

3 - for "a good picture" ?!!!

That's what I was afraid of - quite a few people are judging this challenge based on their beliefs rather than on the merits of photos. It's sad...

My score has been all over the place - started at 4.7, overnight went up above 6, now at around 5.8

I believe this challenge gives people an opportunity to vote for their subconscious feelings about "in the beginning"..it appears to be the evolutionists and scientists vs. the creationists...the plot thickens...come on you believers in natural selection, let's go vote!

Coincidentally, I just sent out my first explanatory PM during voting in about six months. In this case, it was in response to what I perceived as an honest question, and I simply answered it. If I could hide my name in the PM to preserve anonymity, I certainly would, but I think the question deserved a reply.

I don't believe there ever was a beginning, so didn't submit to this challenge. It would have been hypocritical of me...

I don't think registered users have the option to update their stats like paid members do, I think your scores only update every hour but I could be wrong..if so someone please correct me.

It's an arcane secret. You need to spend $25, get initiated into the site (a painful but cathartic process), then we *might* tell you.

Wow.... talk about polarising the voters. I have 12 comments already. Which is kinda crazy for a shot that is sitting on 5.41. Last challenge I scored 6.175 and got 9 comments the whole week.

There should be a score showing on the front page. Otherwise you will have to go to preferences to get it added there. As a non-paying member, your score will be updated every hour. There is no way to tell what your position is compared to others. Even looking at scores in other challenges won't really help as winning scores vary greatly from one challenge to the next.

Welcome to dpc and good luck.
