That's hilarious...I missed that.

Ok so now im at a 4.4something or other and have 6 comments.. i really wish i had posted one of the other shots.. i'm not so good at adjusting the levels yet.. I'm new at this.. I did however think that my picture deserved better than a 4 I was hoping for a 7.. well I guess there is still time. I voted on all the entrys last night and commented on a few I am going to go back through and comment on more of them, also I will change some of my ratings.. I rate first on how the photo moved me than I take a better look and bump up or down for photo quality and clarity. I have only given 1 one and 1 10 so far.. but who knows what will happen on my next viewing .. after all it was 2am here when I voted teh first time. :)

That might explain why I started out with an average in the 1's, but unfortunately I'm still at 3.5ish quite a ways in... sigh... and I really think it's a nice pictture too...

5.68 is good for me.. i dont understand how people complain about these scores.

I'm up to a whopping 4.027, with 6 comments. One of the commenters obviously just glanced at the photo. I got the same reaction around my office... most people just shrug until they really look at it, then the concept becomes plainly obvious and they love it. Should have known better than to push a shot like that though the speed voting process. Next time!

I just barely peeked at this thread, but it looks like there aren't a lot of high socres????? I didn't enter, but I just went through the shots for the first time and there are some beauties!!!!!! I hope folks aren't socring low for whatever they think there is too much of. Each of the really good shots hold something unique in my opinion. Yes, there are plenty of "snapshots", too, but so much great stuff also!!

i've seen good photos out of the 89 i have voted on, but most of them were out of focus

Probably one of mine. I noticed it this morning.

This is a new low for me too .... But I didn't expect a huge reaction since the photo was more of a statement than dramatics ... But I am not complaining - it's all good!

03/30/2005 03:27:04 PM · #88
somehow with my submission i have climbed to 4.9. I am more than happy with this as i think my picture sucks and thought that I had unsubmitted it!
03/30/2005 03:46:27 PM · #89
LOL. What score are you getting?

I am hitting a mid 4.5, a new low for me for a while :-) Frankly the photo isn't that bad, but u never know on this site. Then again, it serves me right for submitting a photo with a lot of details that you can't see on a 640 pixel photo... I should've remember the golden rule of DPChallenge on landscape shots (i.e. no detail works cuz the display is too small to make a difference).

I was feeling pretty sad about my 5.4, since I managed 6.6 last time and I didn't think this that that much worse. But seeing as I bearly scraped into the theme what do I expect :) I am suprised to see so many low scores here since I though the quality of shots on this challange was above the average for a members challange!

Well, I am at 75 votes and still at 3.7 so.... I think I am going to get the low prize award for this one!! :)

I wish they would make commenting mandatory. 75 votes and one single comment. :(

Guess I shouldn't complain as I havent commented on all of them up yet either.

I have commented on 78 of the 265 I have voted on so far...by far not all but a personal best for me, I hope my comments are helpful to any who have received them, as I am far far far from an expert of any type.

Well dang... I am disappointed in my score. I nursed my subjet matter all week long, took hundreds of shots, tried all kinds of new techniques, spent hours in PSP, and it was my very FIRST fully manual picture, using NO auto settings on my camera.

One comment "Too bad there are way too many alike on this challenge."

Well so what? Each picture should be judged on it's own merits. Grrrr

I agree, comments like that drive me crazy, so what if many people had the same idea, each photo is different and unique in it's own way and deserves to be judged as such.

I think the challenges are often too vague you know. It's way too wide.
I think that the themes should be something that makes ppl follow jsut a few different interpretations. This way we would avoid seem pictures that doesn't meet the challenge, or something just too general.
There should be something mandatory in every single challenge. Example?
Free study challenge, no landscape photography. Follow the line of Macro Without Bugs or Flowers. It gives a whole lot of interpretations, but not using the so famous flowers, bugs, EGGS....

Well, I needed to let it go. I thought a lot about my entry for this challenge, really did and it isn't doing any better than my previous submissions. Maybe just a little better...

Well, I think it's cz of ppl's mood....who knows!!!

by the way,
