Orange Symphony by FranziskaLangComment: I would call this artsy. I could imagine a blowup of this photo hanging on a wall in a very contemperary office suite. You have done a good job in framing this scene. You caught the light just right for the subject. The contrast seems to strike a nice balance in this photo. Good job. |

Mirror, Mirror on the floor....by cbonsallComment: Nice idea. The tree and sky does not appear in focus in the mirror. If they were in focus I think the picture would have been even more dramatic. You may try adjusting your aperture for greater depth of field for this type of shot - keeping both the mirror frame and the reflection in focus. Keep up the good work. |

Old Timerby timj351Comment: Wow! I can feel the power this engine once produced. It's almost like the retired warrior. Lots of emotion evoked with this shot for me. Extremely sharp. If you did post processing, you were very judicious. If no post processing was done, it's even more impressive. Excellent work. Irated this high. Gave it a 9. |

A Dog's Lifeby GordonComment: What imagination. You have taken a very common subject and brought it to life. Your exposure is darn close to "dead nuts". The sharpness of the subject is awfully natural. Did you use a polarizer to knock down the glare on the plug and darken the sky? In my mind there are many technical difficulties to overcome to achieve this exposure, in particular the bright exposure of the fireplug while not overexposing the sky. Good job. Keep it up! |

Up Lightsby justineComment: This is a great example of taking a very common object and illustrating its beauty. I applaud your attention to detail in your composition. Give us more of this good work. |

Sub-Entranceby edchuahComment: Extermely tough subject and lighting condition to control. I admire your guts to try it. The dynamic range required to expose for the bright sky, reflections off the chrome, and the shadows must have presented a real challenge for you. A few to many blown highlights to be a winner I think. Having said all of that, the composition is eyecatching, and easy to look at. Nice effort. |

a world full of wiresby heartsdivideComment: I like it. This photo takes something we might take for granted and shows a different way of looking at it. Love the nice blue sky and clouds. Wish the photo showed a little more depth of field to get more of the lower portion of the pole in focus. Nice job nonetheless. |
