Unfortunately I was really pushed for time on this one as I have been real busy that week so in the end I used my back garden to set up the shot.

My camera is an ixus so I can't make many manual adjustments so the mirro's reflection was a little out of focus.

I debated between submitting a similar shot and the one I eventually submitted - good thinking tho ;o)

I want to see the other shots you took but didn't enter. Just kidding, nice way to shoot from ground up.

Interesting interpretation of the challenge. Maybe could have done a little more with the content appearing in the mirror. That is definitely the focus of the shot, and right now it just doesn't do a whole lot.

Lavender on brown... my favorite. I see what you're getting at, and it's a valid interpretation - just not enough interest in the image to support the idea.

Nice idea. The tree and sky does not appear in focus in the mirror. If they were in focus I think the picture would have been even more dramatic. You may try adjusting your aperture for greater depth of field for this type of shot - keeping both the mirror frame and the reflection in focus. Keep up the good work.

Great idea. If there were only something more interesting in the mirror....

Good idea, you can see the ground and you can see up. It would have been much better if the reflection in the mirror were more interesting.

Beautiful! I feel that a lot of thought was put into creating something very simple in this photo. It ties the elements of ground and sky together very effectively, with clear lines and a great contrast between the geometric lines of the pavings and mirror and the fractal complexity of the branches and clouds.

Clever idea.....however, too much background surrounding the frame and too much reflection of sky.

Hmmm... I like the composition of this shot but the 'ground up' concept is flawed here for several reasons... first of all, the camera is pointing down at the mirror... but i do see that the mirror is reflecting what is above it. So what's wrong? well, the objects in the mirror are oriented from a top down perspective as well. it looks like the treetops are pointing directly downwards and at an downward slope. Maybe I'm misinterpreting the whole idea here... maybe this is a 'bounce' shot that is bouncing the image off the ground mirror into your camera? Hmm... I don't know... I'll follow up on your comments with this one after the challenge is over...

Original interpretation. I like the repetition of the diagonals, and it is well-exposed. It gives just enough hint of trees to not be blank, but mostly sky so that we know where that mirror is pointing. It's clever, but I'm not sure that there's enough going on (not enough color?) that it would grab me enough to take a closer look outside of the challenge.
