Nice framing. A waterfall doesn't really represent FROM the GROUND up.. ;)

I was very tempted to do a similar shot, but forgot my camera on the day I needed it :o/ Great feeling of depth.

Good looking up shot. Nice symetry.
05/02/2002 07:44:00 PM
Nice layout. Really draws you in. That light is a bit distracting, but there's probably not much you can do about that.

Extermely tough subject and lighting condition to control. I admire your guts to try it. The dynamic range required to expose for the bright sky, reflections off the chrome, and the shadows must have presented a real challenge for you. A few to many blown highlights to be a winner I think. Having said all of that, the composition is eyecatching, and easy to look at. Nice effort.

good leading lines, great perspective and a good slant on the 'ground up'.
05/01/2002 01:45:00 PM
cool escalator/stairway will be curious to see where this was shot -- over all the picture seems a little flat -- probably because you were shooting in a relatively dark area but with that bright patch of sky and red rock at the top and so the camera had some metering problems -- without some tweaks in photoshop I don't know what to suggest to help fix this

really nicely done, but handrail height isn't a perspective from ground level
04/30/2002 04:01:00 PM
Nice shot.

The cliffs behind make this realy different

I like the composition in this shot but want more balance in the exposure. This would be a good candidate for exactly the kind of post exposure manipulation that's not permitted in this contest. If you could have shot several different exposures (from over to under exposed) then blended them in layers to have beautiful detail in everything from the shadows to the sky it would be great.

Interesting use of leading lines. Were you standing in the water? Where is this place?
04/30/2002 12:53:00 AM
Very beautiful blend between morden transportation and nature captured in one magical momment
04/29/2002 11:33:00 PM
Fantastic 3D Effects.Very clear and sharp image
04/29/2002 09:27:00 PM
Love the pic, but that light in the upper left is soooo annoying!
04/29/2002 08:07:00 PM
This is a great interpretation of the challenge... i like it! Of course, I would have enjoyed seeing a longer exposure to soften the water up a bit too :)
04/29/2002 08:01:00 PM
well now that is just a beautiful piece of engineering and art....where was this taken? great shot too
04/29/2002 06:59:00 PM
Excellent display of perspective!
04/29/2002 06:39:00 PM
Excellent perspective and good exposure + clarity (great Depth-Of-Field). Well done.
04/29/2002 06:08:00 PM
This pic captures the feeling of upward movement for me...Well done!
04/29/2002 05:51:00 PM
wow that's a really cool shot...where is that? - achiral
04/29/2002 04:12:00 PM
Great subject, too bad about the lighting conditions.
04/29/2002 02:15:00 PM
Nice symmetry. Gotta love symmetry.
04/29/2002 01:49:00 PM
Interesting shot but hard to see details.
Maybe if it was lighter.
04/29/2002 11:00:00 AM
nice centering
04/29/2002 10:57:00 AM
Is that a mountain in the background? Really adds to the feeling of height!
04/29/2002 10:09:00 AM
i actually really like this one. i think the thing that is the best is theperspective lines that are 'drawn' for you. great shot i think.
04/29/2002 09:36:00 AM
Cool symmetry. I wonder what this photo would look like at different times of day.
04/29/2002 08:53:00 AM
Subway entrance? It's a whole lot nicer than the ones where I live...nice symmetry, must not have been easy to get without people on the stairs. It might have been interesting at night.
04/29/2002 08:50:00 AM
I really like this ! And what a treasure waits at the top. The water and sides really add to it !!!!! Another fav of the day !!!
04/29/2002 08:33:00 AM
Weird location! well framed, seems slightly tilted though.
04/29/2002 08:05:00 AM
I wish this was just a little brighter, the colors seem muted.
04/29/2002 06:30:00 AM
Nicely composed. I would have liked to have seen a longer exposure to get the waterfall smooth
