CRW_2707by NusbaumComment: Thanks for the input Kevin. I went back to the original image and worked this shot up a little better. I smoothed the skin out a bit and sharpened the eyes. I hope I didn't go too far...
Thanks again for the input! |

Primary Mergerby mcmurmaComment: Great shot! The lighting and composition create a very unique and detailed view of the textures in the glass. The use of yellow and blue is also excellent. I gave it a seven, but it might have slid up the scale another notch if I had completed my second pass at voting. |

Windows to the Windows of the Soulby jenesisComment: Even without WOW factor, I think this rated higher than 5.654. The exposure and focus were both carfully controlled to meet your objective and the composition was at least thoughtful. I'm not sure how that results in so many 5s on a scale of 1 to 10. Would have been a 7 from me, but evidently I didn't vote on enough to reach this one (sorry). |

Well Loved... Well Wornby pmichaudComment: Great subject, but I don't like the background. If these are well worn everyday shoes, show them in the normal surroundings... next to the bed, by the front door, etc.
Technique is good, so my score will be decent, but there is more that you could do with this subject. |

No fill flash on this one. It was early evening and the sun was low in the sky giving us some great light to work with. The Canon 85mm f/1.8 lens really helps here because the shallow depth of field gives the subject a nice pop from the background. Message edited by author 2004-07-29 22:13:20. |

8541 kilometers laterby labudsComment: One of my favorite subjects for "Everyday Objects". I like the textures and the tone that has been applied. A little less highlights and more mid-tones might have helped... but that's open to interpretation. |

Everyday toilet paper!by siggiComment: That is an interesting use of an everyday object. The models eyes look great and the skin tones are good. For some reason the toilet paper doesn't "pop" like I think it should, but I'm not sure why. Still and good shot and I'll give it a good score. |

Strung Outby foxycoxy2auComment: This could have been a lot of fun, but the "objects" need more light. Fill flash or some light from a reflector would have brightened them up against that blue sky. |

The Beautiful Side of Desktop Clutterby C-town driverComment: An interesting shot. I am somewhat bothered by the fact that the pen is slightly out of focus. I could understand out of focus to shift attention to eyes or in focus as one of the objects, but it seems to be somewhere in between. |

LeToiletPaperby MatrixReloadedComment: I think this could have been a little softer (no pun intended). This lighting is a little harsh which really isn't complementary to the subject. I'm not sure what type of lighting was used, but a diffuser of some type might have helped out. |
