 Set-up: Glasses on white card stock with two halogen flashlights, one on each side, pointing to the background. There was also a little natural light coming from a window behind me.

Post-processing: cropped some off the top, slight USM, greyscaled then changed to quadtones. Created an adjustment layer for levels and curves, resized and SFW.

Sometime I do not understand how folks vote. I picked this to be in the top ten, mid six's.

Even without WOW factor, I think this rated higher than 5.654. The exposure and focus were both carfully controlled to meet your objective and the composition was at least thoughtful. I'm not sure how that results in so many 5s on a scale of 1 to 10. Would have been a 7 from me, but evidently I didn't vote on enough to reach this one (sorry).

Yes Skiprow, my husband is pretty much blind!! :D

Thanks for the helpful comments everyone, I kinda knew it was missing the "wow" factor but I liked it anyways just for the lighting alone.

Great focus and lighting. The only fault I can cite (no pun intended) is that it doesn't have a compelling composition of space for me. I think the slightly soft focus is perfect.

hmm .. not bad. This is very simple and clean looking. I really like the light and shadows, and the choice of b&w. Great focus. 7 from me.
