Since I am no genetics specialist, I did not feel legitimate about predicting human beings' evolution from a physical point of view. I preferred to imagine it metaphorically.

When one observes current society, human greed is extremely obvious. Money leads almost everything. What let me bitter, is the fact this greed is often totally useless: while some money can be obviously useful to live comfortably, accumulating it just to be able to write more "zeros" on a bank account makes not much sense to me. I feel like there's no precise goal to that, except the thrill to possess more and more, to keep stacking things blindly, even if it reaches the point where it becomes destructive. I look at such behavior like a severe addiction.

This is such feeling I wanted to share through my image. I chose to depict a dark future, where the new leading animal (obviously evolved from human beings) keeps working towards a goal, without really knowing why. This lack of conscience is symbolized by the hole in the middle of their chests, while they keep feeding the big fat creature that they worship.

I am quite surprised about my good score: I would have thought that such pessimistic analysis would not get much appreciation. Thank you all for your open minds.

Whereabouts do the three models in the foreground live? Do you think one of them (or all three would be great) would pose for me in studio if I paid for their return air tickets?

yet, for all of that, the creature coming out of the sky looks like he has sad eyes. With sad eyes and fish, not all is lost...

Huge congrats!

Thank you for your comment, I'm glad you loved something of my work.
However, I'm afraid I don't fully understand what you mean about it remaining an effort: feel free to explain your point of view a bit more if you wish.

I did find your image very disturbing...and thought-provoking, which is why I spent so much time looking at it before giving it a 10. Well done Christophe, and congrats on the blue.

Thanks a lot Phil, much appreciated. As a matter of fact, you're right: bodies are mine, although I'm not that skinny, nor that fat ;-)

First image of the challenge I've actually enjoyed so far. Very interesting composition, quite dramatic and disturbing. Particularly the fish hooks on the side. Incredibly provocative..well done.

EDIT: finished voting...this is clearly the winner. By a landslide.

Odd, but very well done. This makes me think of something out of a Tool video like the video for Vicarious. I mean that as a big compliment- they have pretty interesting and insane videos. Nicely done- the scenes mesh together wonderfully, which is always the hardest part to accomplish.
