This is the way to stop action. No distractons here, good detail, and you captured the splendor of flight.

I love this picture. The light is at just the right spot. Nice blue sky. Mat it, frame it, put it on my wall. :-)
04/17/2002 11:06:00 AM
I tried this, this is much harder than I thought to do. Good job
04/17/2002 10:46:00 AM
beautiful great egret. the only thing that could be better would be to have caught him from a different angle such that his lower body isnt in such a drastic shadow as the upper.
04/17/2002 04:03:00 AM
Excellent shot and color!
04/16/2002 05:48:00 PM

I like it ...
04/16/2002 12:31:00 AM
Absolutly awesome
04/16/2002 12:03:00 AM
This is truly beautiful. makes us all want to break out and do something different. An unblemished sky, good use of shadows, and of course being able to follow the bird like that makes the shot A++. I love the way the light pierces through the bird's feathers and outlines the exoskeleton.
04/15/2002 10:56:00 PM
A beautiful "xray" effect on the wings!
04/15/2002 10:06:00 PM
Beautiful color and contrast!
04/15/2002 06:22:00 PM
Wow, I like it. I like how you centered the object. Good job.
04/15/2002 06:08:00 PM
Excellent picture. Good exposure and very sharp.
04/15/2002 06:01:00 PM
This ceratinly fits the bill. Good job stopping the action. Very sharp, crisp color. I want to see the bird at an angle or something to lift it a little more off the page visually.
04/15/2002 04:59:00 PM
hard picture to take with such clarity, nice job
04/15/2002 04:28:00 PM
This is just pretty. And I know how difficult it is to get that kind of shot. This kind of zoom shot certainly narrows you down to just a few people. I love trying guess who's it is.
04/15/2002 02:53:00 PM
Nice shot.
04/15/2002 02:52:00 PM
Great framing - I love how the sky looks.
04/15/2002 02:29:00 PM
Beautiful bird. Nice highlights. Looks every so slightly out of focus.
04/15/2002 02:25:00 PM
very symmetrical
04/15/2002 02:16:00 PM
good close up and good stop motion.
04/15/2002 01:25:00 PM
Very good exposure. The lighting Gods were with you.
04/15/2002 01:24:00 PM
Nice!
04/15/2002 11:27:00 AM
Not only is this an excellent photo for the challenge, it is also something I would put on my wall. I love it!
04/15/2002 11:13:00 AM
This is a difficult photo for me to comment on. The bird id definitely moving and this is an excellent photograph of that bird. The composition and all the other techincal elements are right on target. If this were a birds challenge, you would be getting a 10. Is this bird gliding? If so, I wouldn't think that it's a great choice for a 'stopped motion' challenge. I'm not sure that moving the camera to follow a moving (but stationary) object is a good example of capturing stopped motion. It would be sorta like photographing a ferarri riding on a flatbed rail car. Do I make any sense here?
04/15/2002 10:07:00 AM
Definitely my favorite . . . and not just because I love the subject matter. Beautiful with the sun shining through the feathers - well done!
04/15/2002 09:37:00 AM
Great framing! you really emphasize the bird's wingspan, awesome pic
04/15/2002 09:35:00 AM
Good capture, well framed - very cleanly done.
04/15/2002 08:39:00 AM
