Nah, they're not vintage and I didn't get them on eBay. I think pretty well anything goes for this challenge. Hopefully voters will think so too. If not, oh well, it won't be the first time I've been wrong about challenges.

Oh, this is also the first time I have won a ribbon in a member challenge.

hey karen .. brilliant photograph and even tho you didnt buy it on ebay, i doubt many other ppl who entered this challenge did either .. !! .. like a potato !!!!! .. lol... altho seeing i havent really done anything on ebay i'm not totally sure ppl dont sell potatoes there, as well as a whole heap of other 'stuff' ..
anyway .. a big congratulations to you .. another addition to your awesome portfolio .. :)
Not vintage? No bought on ebay???? I am putting a complaint to the SC immediately!!!
Seriously many congratulations on the ribbon another of your truely great images. The composition is spot on and the duotone conversion is magnificent, giving the baubles a wonderfully fragile look to them without having sacrificed any sharpness or clarity in achieving a soft look about it
Thoroughly deserved ribbon....
Wishing you a fantastic Christmas and a happy, peaceful, prosperous and most of all healthy 2008
Great lighting and lovely tones. Very festive too and so this should be popular. Interesting choice of duotone hue, Christmas not often associated with cold colours, more the traditional warm golden / red tones of a roaring fireplace or something - however it works so well here. Well composed and not spoilt by any complicated distracting background elements.
Oh dear, tenuously linked to the challenge, you should of saved this for the December freestudy, would of done very well.. here, I am not so sure.. kinda feels shoehorned in. maybe you did buy them on ebay, but thats about it.. sorry.
my top pick for this challenge and a fav. I love this! everything about it is perfect to me. the light, shadows the softness and event he slight blue cast (is that a slight glow i see too?) very very nice...10!
