this is breathtaking!!! I love the perfect shape, the colours and the sharpness! I would have given you a 9 (a 10 if the tip of the lights were within the frame)

I tried something similar myself last year with our Christmas tree at home but it turned out lousy in comparison...maybe I'll post it nevertheless to keep this thread on the front page.

What a shame they don't put up the tree any more. What is the reason? The costs?
Where I live there is a nice Christmas tree at the city centre in front of the town hall. It's not spectacular, but it gives a nice atmosphere. Two years ago some vandals cut off the top at nighttime - two days before Christmas Eve. Isn't that a senseless and barbaric act? This caused a discussion if or if not the tree was set up next time. I'm glad the pro's were in a majority.

I think this photo is really pleasing and could be on the front of a Christmas card for next year.

Karen, I am sure on occasion that you must wonder if I just say these things because we are 'friends' but I have to say I LOVE this shot, it stood out a mile in the long exposure chalenge.

A wonderful explosion of colour that made you feel that the tree was flying through psace towards you. A magnificent image that would look wonderful on a Christmas card (a very cool christmas card)

Brilliant shot and congratulations on the top 20 placement

Nice zoom exposure. I remember many years ago experimenting with my first zoom lens. Thanks for bringing back that very pleasant memory. Very nice exposure with good contrast and colors.
