The Marktkirche in Wiesbaden; a Lutheran church built from 1852 to 1862 (which makes it relatively new 'round these parts). I think church organs are elegant and stately. The angle isn't so much an artistic statement (though I do like it) it's because I didn't have a tripod - I set the camera on what I think is probably the hymnal rail which is at an angle and gave me this perspective among others.

Post processing - tonemapped from a single RAW file. Opened the resulting jpeg in PS, used an adjustment layer in normal blending mode to convert to black and white then faded the opacity to 16% (to tone down the tonemapping a bit). Slight hue/sat, slight exposure tweaks, cropped, sharpened, resized, added thin border, saved, then saved for web. (First save is so I have the history file.)

And for those that didn't like the angle, here's a straight-on version:

Stunning shot, Debs. Love everything about this one, especially the way you controlled the tone mapping with the B&W layer :-)

This is a really interesting shot. I compared it to the straight on shot and your angle adds so much depth to the pic. I have to learn to take pics from different perspectives like this. Very cool!

Congrats! You placed very well in this uber low-scoring challenge, and deserved much higher. I really love the perspective on this. BTW - what's up with the guy who wrote "stupid" and gave you a 7? Sounds like an oxy-moron, pun intended.

hey deb .. congratulations for an unusual take with your composition .. its pretty daring i reckon in a challenge, coz so many ppl dont think outside the box ... the clarity, the design, the colours, etc are excellent .. 27 out'v 305 aint bad !!!:):)x

Nah, I disagree with the anti-tilt folks. I think it's much more interesting this way. Congrats, Deb!

Done properly a tilted shot can bring power to an image. I don't see a reason for tilting this shot...

I feel I need to turn my head to get the shot in perspective and it feels a little busy. Still....a good shot overall.

Unusual perspective really doesn't add anything to this to me.
