Piece of Ilford Galerie Pearly 240gsm paper (to be precise - though it matters, to give that depth of shading), twisted and stapled together at the ends to form the Mobius Strip - a one-sided piece of paper. Thus if you were to walk along the strip, you would never, ever reach an end, so this IS infinite. It just happens, that when you make one, it sits in the form of the mathematical symbol for infinity. Neat, huh?

The large amount of negative space is so as not to crowd the very simple composition. And maybe I should re-shoot and get rid of slight over-lap of the velvet over the paper bottom right?

Daylight, from the right, indirect.

Greetings from the Critique Club :)

I think you did a great job on the lighting with this photo. The shading is nice on the white, and the exposure seems good. This is also an example of a good centered composition. This subject is a good attention grabber. I like to let my eye 'walk' the strip :) The only thing that looks a little odd to me in this image is that it's possibly oversharpened a tad. There are some 'jags' appearing for me that usually indicate that to be a problem.

The black background here works nicely to isolate your subject from the environment. There may also be some opportunities for strength in this photo by creating a gradient background with some additional creative lighting.

Nice work :)

Wow. I thought this was a most excellent entry and expected it to score much higher. (I scored it a 10)

I went so far as to piece one together (also using matte paper) but couldn't get it to curve like I wanted. So I gave up on it before ever taking a shot, and went with a more abstract concept. Glad I did, cause your mobius strip is a lot nicer than mine was!

Good image and very crisp shades but would have loved to see a little something more in the shot personally as it almost looks more like computer graphics than a photo.

Nice, clear photo with good contrast. It might be more interesting if the loop wasn't perfectly horizontal.

The clarity of this image is amazing. Nicely done. Perfect lighting, methinks. 9

I think this came out better than the one I was thinking of doing!

I really like the simplicity of this, and how it seems to "float." Nicely done.

Perfect exposure control. Now the bad news. It lacks interest. I really do admire how perfect the lighting and dof is.

fabulous lighting. Very three dimensional, lovely gradient. I wonder how it would look with the strip on the diagonal? 8

Fits the challenge perfectly. Loop is centered, well-lit, overall composition is very good

Excellent choice for a subject and great presentation. I too had thought of a mobius loop, but couldn't come up with a suitable way to represent it. The midtones in this shot are fantastic, subtle greys, wonderful highlights and great contrast with the black background. I like it!

I have to say this is what I had intended to do and I know I would not have done it as well as this..very crisp and clean 7

I knew there was going to be a shot like this in here somewhere. This one is carried out amazingly well... your lighting is perfect. I don't like the ratio of negative space though... perhaps a slightly tighter crop would have worked better. I really think that this shot needs a border here. 7

cool shot. good lighting. looks almost too good, like it was made in illustrator, not that I'm accusing or anything, I'm sure it's a photo. Very creative.

I was considering this myself, but couldn't get it to work right. You've done a great job, the lighting in supberb! Great stuff.
