This was an advanced editing challenge. :)
Selective Editing: Adjustments can be made selectively to your photo. Cloning, dodging, burning, etc. to improve your photo or remove imperfections or minor distracting elements, etc. is acceptable.

Great shot, but I'm very confused about the rules for open challenges which state:
"Spot-Editing: Absolutely no spot-editing is allowed. This includes, but is not limited to drawing tools, dodging/burning tools, and cloning tools"
Is this now allowed? |

| Another good result with another great shot. The crop/composition is wonderful, I love the way that the feet and the wingtips are pointing to the corners. Lovely warm feel to the background with satisfying earth tones. |

| 8 - Nice capture and composition. Criticism; difficult, perhaps some slight gamma issues in the darker areas in the background. Depending what you had to work with, 'using'/incorporating the good water element more may have given this a little extra, not sure. |

| Shame about that clump of weeds breaking the BG into such a two tone affair, but the Nice DOF doe a decent job to minimize the problem. Thw color palate works well and the exposure is very nice. The framing is the best part of the shot, with the wings and the fet all bringing in the eye from the conrners, allong the neck to the eye. The bird itself is just about nails, with the feet being prefectly picked out off the BG. One of two nines in the challenge, ought to ribbon. |

| ohhhh my... what a capture...the light head is against the dark... the dark body is against the light.. a full body capture, crisp focus.. all the signs of someone who has worked very hard at capturing this type of image (and gotten lucky!) I want to be this good |

| I've seen these where I walk my dog. They look like dinosaurs. Great capture in the true spirit of the theme. Could use a bit more contrast to give it some more pop. Still a high scorer with me because of the sharpness, a DOF that isolates the subject very well and the incredible comp. |
