 katee passed away on the 4th June 2019 ..
she was nearly 17 years old

I took this photo after the photo bomber .. aka katee .. wandered near the bird bath .. I was taking photos for the 'get out of your comfort zone' challenge .. photographing the noisy miner birds in action ..

it was about 12 hours before rollover .. 4 in the morning in australia .. and i read don posthumous's comment .. it made me cry ..
katee is most definitely loved .. she is a precious little girl .. so warm, endearing and friendly with everyone .. with a quirky and entertaining personality ..
she is over 16 years old .. nearly completely deaf .. and with some major health problems .. her time here is limited ..
Don's comment brought home to me in a rush that she wont be with me for a whole lot longer .. relatively speaking ..
i treasure the time i have with my little soul partner ..

and thankyou so much everyone for all the beautiful comments during voting ..

this was katee with our little bird before he passed away .. it shows what a special little soul she is ..
when we first got the little bird katee wanted to eat him .. over time she realized that he was part of the family and became totally trustworthy with him .. his cage door was open all the time and could come and go as he pleased ..

i'm sitting here extremely overcome that my little girl has got herself a blue ribbon ... its a wonderful testament to her ..

This dog understands the world a lot better now that she’s deaf. And an old soul in spite of her joyful nature.
A Buddhist would say that you were wrong to form such an attachment but that’s a week thought. Love is everything. The only enduring thing.
Both photographs are amazing.
For once we all agreed here with the blue.

art can be a bit sentimental at times, dwelling in a glimmer when there's work to be done. sometimes art dares to share space with that other, older, force called love. It can easily go wrong, but such art is fearless. and, besides, failing in the name of love is the best way to fail.

this art succeeds in saying that this dog is loved.

Katee!!! She looks gorgeous in that light. Guessing the rays are added in PP but they work perfectly here. The background looks fantasy-like. Just an outstanding portrait.
