So... I had a choice... going to the great dismal swamp to work on parts of a grunge shot, or going up to a great blue heron rookery just for fun.

I picked the heron rookery. :)

But I did stop at an abandoned power plant and got this shot:



I just wasn't too crazy about it. I love the power plant, but this shot didn't really send me.

So I decided to look back at photos that I took during the week to see if I could force something.

I took a picture of Moriarty on the chair to play with flash and flash settings, and I had taken a picture of the grackle just for the heck of it. So I put them together! It wasn't planned, it was a last minute discovery.

I never expected it to do anywhere near this well. Seriously?? 7.4? Thanks!!

Intriguing symbolism with very good base shots, particularly the crow. Love the eyes on both, and nice choice of the overlays.

I don't know how to judge this challenge topic... but I like this image. I wish, though, that the rear legs of the chair had a shadow to keep it from "floating in mid air" in my mind.

Love that quarter sawn mission chair. Actually, any chair would do. Interesting how the bird doesn't draw any attention from the cat. A thought provoking image.
