From a Junior College game I shot today. Jefferson College's Danny Murphy swings and connects for his second home run of the day.

I am behind with commenting :-(, but at least I am taking pictures :-).
This week I learned all new things - Thank You Ursula for posting such a nice tutorial in the forum //www.dpchallenge.com/forum.php?action=read&FORUM_THREAD_ID=1192016.
I loved the images of this artist //500px.com/Delphine

So I worked through Ursula's tutorial. I was amazed what you can do! Never knew what all those "buttons" could achieve .. I just have them on "normal" :-(!
I also tried some "normal" editing to see the differences.
I am glad I did it and I learned quite a bit, but I am not happy with what I have.
The first problem is that my BG is not "interesting" enough. Looking at her images, the BG is almost as, if not more important than the actual subject. So having a "nice dark BG to make the flower stand out" doesn't work :-).
I also wonder if a much closer crop on my image would get closer to what I want.

I have a set of pics on the card that I took for something else which may work ... not sure. I wonder of you need very "clearly recognisable" subjects for this type of technique so the viewers brain "knows" what it is looking at and goes beyond the "blury" if that makes sense?
It is definitely something that I will be spending more time with and hopefully get better at it. I love those pictures.

Original after some editing like I would probably normally do

This is trying to get the effect

This is using Topaz filters to get something similar.

I want to show a bit of variance in my PAW so I'm going to post three here from a session last night. And will let you chose which one you would like to comment on. I've begun to comment and try to catch up, but I've only got one free hour tonight.

This was my submission for the B challenge but I have converted it to B&W as suggested by gcoulsonin the comments. I love the power of comments, the thought would never have crossed my mind otherwise. I have posted the origional as well.

This week is a fun shot that came about while I am P A T I E N T L Y trying to get my black cat against a black BG. In this series I actually did get 1 or 2 shots. But I couldn't resist a little pp on this one ;-)
