This week again the 400MM down court, not 100% happy with it, but I chose this from my thumbnails so I'm sticking with it. It's not as critically sharp as I prefer my shots, so this one won't go to the paper.

I have fallen behind in my commenting - sorry about that and I will try to catch up. Not very healthy at the moment. I am posting a shot of my little dog with her Valentine look. I will post another shot to get caught up as soon as I am up to editing.

Well I had a friday evening off preparing for a killer week next week covering two District basketball tournaments. But last minute my alma mater calls and asks me if I will come take some photos at Senior night at the Basketball game. So I decide to pull the next weeks Photo from the nights take. Problem is I can't decide which one I like more. So I will let you decide. Sorry for the many choices but I like them all. It's always nice to be "on" when hired last minute I've got about 100 killer images from the night. The first image is a dear friend of mine and her daughter who is a Senior this year, when she was born the doctors told Renee she would live about 2 weeks and if she did live longer she would never walk/talk or amount to anything. Well here she is a Senior in high school and earlier in the school year was voted Homecoming queen by her peers. :D

Is it really week 8 already?

This comes with my humble apologies to h2.
I LOVED the image in "hotograph within a photograph" and spent the morning re-creating it.
I have no idea how h2 did it, but I eventually composed mine from 2 separate images. I tried to get the picture in the phone, but just couldn't. While sitting at the computer cursing quietly under my breath why I couldn't get it "right", I suddenly thought of a different way to approach this challenge and voila - in no time at all.

Thanks for the lovely inspiration h2

Van Ness Avenue, a predominantly north/south boulevard in my town, was the home of "automobile row" in the old days with palatial showrooms.
Now, although much of the automobile business has escaped to the nearby suburbs, it still is a premier center for car sales, as well as repairs and detailing.

This gives a detailed analysis of the area. Even if you are not especially interested in the content, do look at the front cover. It tells of a time that was opulent beyond belief. and of course, of an automobile industry that was "State of the Art".
The garage pictured here, still in use, but of course in different hands now, is my oddity/embellishment of the week. The paint is fresh and the decoration is original.
"Inverness Garage #1, 1565 Bush Street. Built 1923. Years of public garage use: 18. Integrity is high." - page 42

I may hang around this area of town for a while. Sorry for being so long-winded, but this is getting to be fascinating!

Week 8: Hoover

I wanted to make a shot of Hoover, running through the garden, for the Motion Blur Challenge. Didn't work, but I got some nice shots of him with really nice backlight.
