I know his one ear is cut off, but I liked this very much. Besides, I have some portraits of our former Westie (Crumble) also without the tip of one ear, fits perfectly.

He's growing up to become an even nicer dog. His fur is always beautiful. I agree that the version with a little more detail in the eye is even better.

Beautiful portrait. Wonderful crisp focus on the face. Did not notice the ear since my eyes are drawn to the cute face of Hoover.

We get so beaten down by the whole comment/critique thing that we look at our own shots and all we see are the flaws. I didn't even notice the ear thing until you mentioned it. I was busy looking at his intense look. This shot's a keeper!

The same image of Hoover, but with more details in his eye.

I didn't even notice his ear until I read your notes - too busy looking at his cute face. I like the detail in his white fur which can't be easy to achieve in strong light.

I agree with nam, just a little more light in the eye, which is easy to do.
Overall I think this is a lovely shot. Perhaps the portrait experts could weigh in here, I am wondering if you couldn't crop it more to make the cut off tip of the ear less of a problem. I think the BG and the deatil in the dog (fur) is lovely. He really stands out.

If there was a Like button here, we'd be wearing it out just for the shots of Hoover. He's totally loveable! Good shot, too.
