It's difficult to empty the mind in only one week. We need this type of challenge on a regular basis. Practice makes imperfection!

I worked hard on comments for this challenge and thought I must have reached about 80% but noticed I was only at 45% so special thanks to everyone that managed to comment on 100% (especially Brian bvy who not only commented on 100% but went back and started revising his comments). This is an exciting day. I hope we do this again. Good luck to everyone.

what she said... thanks, Don.

Yes, thanks as always Don. I will make use of the shiny new little .gif, if not for this challenge for some in the past or, hopefully, future!!

This may be true for you but I understand Posthumous himself has an entire gallery. Who better to know the spirit of this challenge?

thkyou!!!

yes that's what it's for. here's what you use, without the spaces:

I went back to a couple of images of mine that Don had acknowledged so I could post up his cool gif on my profile page. Oddly enough both images are quite in focus and bright in color.

Absolutely.

I find it curious that most people seem to love challenges of this nature, but when such images are entered into regular challenges, they tend to get creamed more often than not. I had a couple of thoughts on that...

1) People are rating the entries within the context of the topic and such images are therefore getting higher votes than they would in a topic not oriented to these kinds of shots.
2) Even though a lot of people like these challenges, people are in less agreement of what is good vs what sucks, and the voting is wilder. (If the ribbons are in the mid 6's and not in the high 6's or 7's that may be evidence of this)

damned artists... give them an inch and now they want to take over the whole site. Next, I expect them to want the Posthumous ribbons posted on the front page along with the "real" ribbon winners. The sky is falling, the sun glows dim.

Thank you for the vote of confidence, but I'm always interested in Louis's opinion. I hope he shares his less than half a dozen at the end of the challenge!

I'm afraid I won't be able to see/ponder and say/value all that I want to in this congenial venue before turnover. At the very least I would like to echo everyone's appreciation and thanks for the set up and delivery and the bounteous and original commenting.

Maybe change my user name to "slow." I think I need 3 months to empty my mind of November.

At last, the funniest comment ever made on one of my photos has arrived rivaling even the best of my Star Trek heros here on DPC!

LOL...many thanks! You made my whole week!

Really?! One that beats "Dammit, Jim! I'm a doctor not a photography critic! "?

This I have to see...

Ahhhhh...now I have received THE COMMENT of all comments.

To be cherished, honored, and more importantly remembered...ALWAYS!

Man. I was a contender. Key word being "was". I am a bit bummed. Checking my comments all day long to hoping to see that little image show up in the comment section. But alas. It was not meant to be. (sniff)

Contender here also. I see I am in good company. It will still be great to be in the gallery. I never expected a shot such as this to do so well.

Edit: My misunderstanding. I thought contender meant it didn't get a ribbon but made the gallery. I'm not in the gallery after all. Oh well, win some, lose some.

I was wondering how you had entered, since you'd said you didn't have a camera right now. Using a webcam is really thinking! Glad you were able to make the party!

awww... does that mean that if you're in the gallery you know by now? I figured I wouldn't be a contender, but I had, albeit every so small, hopes of maybe a gallery nod.

Ah well, I can live with it. :)
