I was wondering how you had entered, since you'd said you didn't have a camera right now. Using a webcam is really thinking! Glad you were able to make the party!

Ditto. But you must get a camera.

Thank you Don! You have made my whole week. Now I see why everyone gets so excited about your ribbons. I'm just excited to be in your gallery!

Most enigmatic score, with best comments. I'll declare victory/defeat and smile all the way home.

LOL, no enemy here. I've had two great weeks: last week when I struggled to take the right photo, and this week when I received amazing appreciation for my effort. But most importantly, I have an image I love! Thank you for all you do to open peoples our eyes and minds.

finished up voting about 30 mins before the end of the challenge. I would have loved to give more comments, but didn't want them to sound "canned". I gave some honest critique on a few that I liked, but felt like they could have been "more", along with praise to the ones I liked the most (hopefully pointing out what it was I liked, when I could grasp it).

You have rated 132 of 132 images (100%) in this challenge.
You have commented on 22 images (17%) in this challenge.
You have given an average score of 6.2879.

This included a single 9, and eleven 8's (all marked as faves).

I have given an average score of nearly 6 on this challenge, extraordinarily high for me. I have awarded a Golden Paw, two Silver Paws, and three Bronze Paws to images that resonate with me for various quirky reasons. My thanks to the folks that run the site, for making this wonderful challenge happen, and to Posthumous, Ubique and their ilk, who by their examples inspire me.

It's been real, folks :-)

whoo hoo made my profile page!
And this has been a really helpful challenge, I pushed my limit (which wasn't very high) but I did.. Then learned tons by seeing all your awesome photo's in this! I may get even wilder now.. (Oh Oh that could be skerrry) Thanks Don for your comment and every one else for the wonderful inspirations!!

thanks to all for playing. my picks are in the thread that started it all.

interestingly, my ribbons were about as far removed from the top ranks as they usually are. lots of high scores at the bottom of the challenge, as usual. but my art gallery picks reach all the way to the top...

I have to admit that I enjoyed delving into the posthumous subculture with this challenge. I think the most attractive part of said subculture is that the photographic environment is seldom setup. You take the light provided and find a way to make it work for you. Nicely done everyone and thank you for the many kind comments on my image.

I've gotten much encouragement from people and very little discouragement, so thanks, folks. I appreciate that a lot. De Sousa made his mark in the comments boxes and it's good to remember that he and silverfoxx hatched this plan those many moons ago, for me to give out my own ribbons and for others to reward photographs for something besides slickness or mass appeal

... and thanks to skewsme for suggesting this challenge in the first place.

Everything in my art gallery is something I consider a viable piece of art: original, striking, moving. The 5 ribbons were chosen for a personal connection, not familiar subject matter but rather some world I sensed in the photograph that beckoned personally to me. Others were underrated and neglected by me, but that is being made up for by the acuity of others.

Now I will slip back into the usual shadows...

Hey Don, you're a rock star for a few hours. Enjoy the ride. THEN slip back into the shadows.
