15 awesome positive comments so far on my shot and the 4.62 score certainly reflects it :)

wrong photo for this challenge... all the commenters like the photo, but they tell me that is not "in theme" with this challenge.

Something wrong either it DNMC or it's worth a very good 5.8182 score. Should not be both.

People have been known to do wicked things to be up near the six mark, you hit the nail on the head with your pic i think.

my shots been going down rather a lot over the last twenty votes or so, had my hopes up on getting that bloody egg shot of my home page, not likely now, i got a fave that's a plus and 19 comments that's a record for me, thanks all.

It means you are doing ok with your shot, it cannot be out of context or your score would not be so high.

Ciao Giorgio ! Exactamente significa azzecare, indovinare. In questo challenge, il tuo punteggio è abbastanza buono perchè questo è un challenge molto differente, gente non vota como sempre, alcuni votano como pensano que farebbe Posthumous.
Se la tua foto fosse DNMC, avrei forse un 4.

I have received some wonderful comments from some heavy hitters, but nothing from bvy yet. I am hitting the update button like a crazy person.

This should amuse him; if not for sense, then for the sound.

My image was expressly shot with my interpretation of what a Posthumous Award appears to me.
That is; unusual or difficult light, blur, both motion and or camera or OOF, with a hint of some form of emotion or surrealistic effect.
I have a bvy and a posthumous comment under my belt :) amongst others.
However it has started sinking since Monday. Tough titties.

BTW has anyone noticed that Don has reached over 40,000 Profile Views thanks to this challenge?

Is it true what they say? Is Tyler Durden building an army?

Leather breasts Robert? Must be an S&M thing going on...
I think the non-literal translation is 'sfortuna'

...and that is indeed quite possible, depending of course on the image you submitted.

argh. I've been dropping in everything today.

Big drop in posthumous and orange. :(

I'm so slow. Turns out this is my 100th challenge :-)

And I concur about the scores - I've been holding steady all week and dropped 2 whole 10ths in the last day.

Yes there most certainly are...whether they are any good is indeed a question of interpretation. :O)

Ray I am sorry. When I referred to swimming in the posthumous pool I had forgotten how easily, alas how inevitably, you seem to find yourself out of your depth. Here with my best wishes and apologies is a small aid to assist you as you splash about in this challenge.

To be a tad more precise, the initial exchange went like this:

Wish every challenge was a posthumous challenge. Oh wait, it is! Best thing is that there are among my pleasingly long 'short list' of admirable contenders some startling shots that I know must be from folks having their first swim in the posthumous pool. I'd said in a post before the challenge that I was not convinced this challenge was a good idea. How wrong could I be?

Given that the word "startling" was bolded to add emphasis, it should follow that your response would deal with that aspect of the exchange to wit "startling" may or may not correspond with being "Good".

I have no problem with the pool whatsoever and have dared to wade in where others fear to do so. I do however appreciate the fact that you are concerned about my well being and thank you for striving to keep me afloat in what could be turbulent waters.

Have a great day, :O)

Ray

somehow reminded me of this (see Posthumous Ribbon!? thread):

Originally posted by clive_patric_nolan:

... ubique recently started this thread in which he quoted Paolo Pellegrin as saying, '"I'm more interested in a photography that is 'unfinished' - a photography that is suggestive and can trigger a conversation or dialogue. There are pictures that are closed, finished, to which there is no way in." ...

I mean, commenting allows viewers to create the dialogue that unfinished pictures strive for. In the rare case where the dialogue brings about interpretations unforeseen by the photographer, the picture becomes a piece of art independent of its creator, and the photographer becomes an artist. This is impossible with a "finished" picture, since the photographer already thought of and clarified everything, making the picture a monologue.

I'm seriously considering giving about 15 blues, 15 reds and 15 yellows. I'm not sure how else to do it.

You need a broader spectrum. I would be fine with the fuchsia ribbon.

Hey Don, are you giving out a brown ribbon?
