Once in a while, I get out my old movie projector lens and have a little fun with it. It shoots marvelous shallow DOF photos. The center example was hand held at 1/30 sec. It's so heavy that it is pretty stable when hand holding. I don't carry it around for more than about an hour at a time though.

This belonged to my parents, probably from the early or mid 1940's.

Mine is not in very good shape as you can see.

By the way, for anyone who has not found this site yet, Orphan Cameras is a great place to find user manuals for obsolete camera gear. I've been amazed at what he has. (It's also worth a few bucks donation to help him keep this great resource online.)

I use his site all the time, a tremendous resource. I gave him $20 bucks once and he was shocked - grateful, but shocked - I get the feeling he doesn't get many donations, and when he does it's not more than a buck or two. But I figured I must have pulled 50+ manuals from his site over the course of several years - $20 probably wasn't enough. I second the notion to make sure you donate - it's an incredible effort he's made with that site. Sad part is, some manual hub sites lift his scans (which of course, are there to take for everyone) and then try to sell them. Sometimes they don't even bother to remove his disclaimer notice, or the manual is torn or stained in precisely the same way his is - hard to deny the true source.

I think I sent him $10 a few months back when I found he had the manuals for all the old Vivitar flashes I had bought. I've found a few more recently, I need to send something again.

I bought this one for 69 cents at a thrift shop the other day, intending to use it for the Holga/Lomo side challenge. Found I couldn't. Take a look at the advance and rewind mechanisms.

Makes a unique addition to the collection, I suppose.

Wow... I just eBay'd one of these iS-1 (1000), waiting for the dude to pay, now... included a 1.5x Oly teleconverter and a Macro converter. Also ebay'd an Oly OM-2 and Minolta X-7A (special ed X-370). Bummer, I could get some crazy, ugly shots out of the Minolta... :)

This is an old image, but I love this camera...

This is the camera I used in the late 1950s and 1960s. I guess it's sort of s cult classic now...
